In a word: Terrible. I bought a Groupon for this salon on Feb 7th because it was $39 for a deep conditioning, cut, and blow dry. Not a bad deal, right? I looked up the salon on this site and there were great reviews so I said, "why not." There were glowing reviews about Armin so I knew I would want to get my hair cut specifically with him since I had been growing out my hair for a year to have a great cut.

From the very beginning I should have known that this would be a bad experience. I called the salon to make an appointment around Feb 8th and was told that Armin only worked certain days up until certain hours. I determined I didn't want to get my hair cut before valentine's day so I made the appointment for the following Tuesday. The receptionist told me his latest appointment was around 3pm so I took it. When Tuesday came around, I LEFT WORK EARLY to make it to my appointment. I was greeted by Valerie who told me that because my hair was long I would have to pay an extra $20. This is not a small fee. If the Groupon is $39 and I'm paying an extra $20, that's over 50% of the original cost!!! Basically, it was a scam to have me pay the original cost of the haircut. I didn't want to lose the Groupon as I had already paid for it so I went ahead with the conditioner and cut. Bad idea.

To start, the lady who washed my hair splashed water ALL OVER my face and into my eyes. When that was done, I waited around thinking that one of the male hairstylists was Armin. WRONG. I was then directed back to Valerie. I was confused as I had made the appointment well in advance and only left work early to be styled specifically by Armin. The receptionist then told me that Armin wasn't around and that Valerie was very good. "She even does my hair" she said. I continued to tell her that their customer service SUCKED and that I should have been called to be told that Armin would not be available. I would have changed my appointment if that were the case. She then called Armin who said he couldn't come and to have me do it with Valerie. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Ultimately, I did have Valerie do my hair and while she did an okay job, it was nothing special. It was also about 2-3 inches shorter than we had discussed. Later Armin finally showed up and apologized for not being able to see me although he remarked I was "in good hands." All in all, a bad experience and would NOT recommend it to anyone. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND LACK OF CARE FOR NEW CUSTOMERS.

UPDATE 2: As I do not use Groupon all the time, I had no idea that was even an option. However, the value is what the customer pays NOT the original value to the salon. When you do a deal with a coupon site, you are saying that the value of a specific service is lowered to a certain amount for a specific time. Therefore, the value is based on that price not the original price. So yes, it was an extra 50%. As for the last part of your comment, could you be anymore rude and condescending? I wrote a review on this site based on my experience as I perceived it. If you do not want people to review your services, then you shouldn't post your salon on a review site. As for your statement, I have been going to the same salon for many years. I have, however, tried several of their stylists as everyone has their specialty. The only reason I decided to try a new salon was because I wanted to spend a bit less and perhaps get something a bit edgier. Thank you, however, for your condescending attitude. I hope that in the future you afford your clients a bit more respect. Either way, good luck to you and your salon.

Best "Ombre" Highlights by Armin. Greetings. Let me begin by saying "WOW!" I can't begin to tell you how much I love my Ombre highlights by Armin. Before I booked my appointment, I knew that I wanted Ombre highlights, but had read the horror stories about hairstylist who say they know how to create this style and they come out looking a hot mess. Well, after careful research, I found Armin salon in South Miami. From the moment I walked in the door, everyone was very friendly and offered me something to drink and wanted to make sure that I was comfortable. Armin was, needless to say, AWESOME. For those of you who are thinking about getting Ombre highlights, it's a very long process, especially if you have long, thick hair like myself. Anyhow, he was very patient with me throughout the whole process and made it fly by. Thanks again! You definitely have a life-long customer.

All I can say is Armin, you've got talent!!! I went there with a close friend before her fashion show. And wow! It was so amazing after i saw the result. What did you do to make her that beautiful? I already recommend Armin to my mom since my mom really love to spend her time at salon and doing so much bla-bla-bla on her hair. I'm sure she gonna love your service!

Carlos did an INCREDIBLE job with my hair. I came in with monotoned blonde hair and dark roots and Carlos gave me some amazing highlights and lowlights. My hair looks so natural and the cut is amazing! Thank you Carlos! I will be coming back for sure!

Gina does wonders with my hair, she is at Armin Salon on 73rd Street, South Miami. I love everything she does, color, cut, style, is noticeable that she loves what she does. She is the best! The Salon has good atmosphere and I enjoy to be there every week.

Also Maria does my manicure and pedicure, she does a great job.

I recommend Gina to anyone who is looking for a good hairstylist, I can assure you that she will help you look your best.

Letty at Armin's salon has been doing my nails for 16 years. She is the best !

Armin now does my hair and I am delighted to see how much healthier and better it looks. I have frizzy, curly hair and Armin can do a blow dry in 30 min flat, with no gooey products and gimmicks, just a strong arm and skills !!

Thanks for beautiful color, cut and blow-dry!!! Everyone was complimenting me, particularly my b/f who was in awe when I picked him up at the airport later that day.

Joseph Nero is a great stylist and not only does wonders to your hair but he also explains all the technical aspects so that we understand what we are doing to the hair when we are treating it with chemicals and how to best care for it.

The cut was done by Armin and I was very happy with the results. He listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered the best cut I've had in quite some time.

The salon has a great atmosphere and I'll be there again in a few weeks!

I found my stylist for life!!!. I have always been a bit

obsessed with my hair and I am extremely picky with

choosing a stylist. Last year I stumbled upon Armin from

some great reviews on this site, and he did NOT

disappoint me! He gave me the most bright, blonde, and

uniform highlights I have ever gotten, not to mention a

great cut and amazing blow-out. I moved 3,000 miles away

after going to him twice but when I moved back I knew that

I already had a perfect stylist waiting to do my hair again!

Having returned to him just a week ago, I got exactly what I

expected.... beautiful, blonde, soft hair that I just had to

share with everyone! Thank you Armin!

My hair god, Joseph Nero did it again!! Japanese straightening camp out day complete and a very happy boyfriend and me this evening. Took him over a year to convince me to say good bye to my curls and frizz forever. Now almost 5 years later Ill even drive to the keys to have him straighten or highlight my hair. Bonus to my always fun salon days with Joseph was a very welcoming and enjoyable environment. So much so I got a great cut from Armin and beautiful threaded eyebrows from Mari and ill definitely be making the trek from Hollywood to South Miami next month for another salon day, maybe some drastic highlights, a facial ooooooo and a mani/pedi!!!

Great salon... FABULOUS stylist... THANKS Armin!!!. Hey girls! I hate to have to admit this but my hair was just blah… you know what I mean?! I really needed a change… I was just so over my color!!! I needed something new, something glamorous, something to turn the guys heads lol…

So I did what any self-respecting girl would do… I bought all the celebrity magazines and took a look at what’s HOT! I fell in love with this carmely brownish color with the most beautiful blondish highlights… I knew this was my new look!

Now I just had to find somebody to help me! I asked my friend who always has fabulous hair who’s her stylist and she told me about Armin at Armin Salon. So I called Armin and told him about my hair emergency and he was sooooo great! He really listened and understood what I was talking about and we scheduled an appointment for my transformation.

I was kinda nervous when I first sat in his chair ‘cause I’ve never done anything major with my hair like this before, but Armin was so sweet and wonderful I felt right at home! He looked at the pictures I brought in, explained what he would have to do and then got started. Time went by so fast and a few hours later when I looked into the mirror I couldn’t believe how gorgeous my hair looked! My girlfriends all love my new look and I’m sooooo happy I couldn’t wait to hit the clubs and celebrate! Armin is just the best and if you wanna do something great for your hair you gotta go see him you’ll be glad you did!!!!
