Unstable and malicious people frequent
many businesses. Our only complaint is that the "Anti-bullying act " only became legal recently. We will be happy to use this statute to our advantage. Thank you MIAMI DADE for enacting a law that actually helps businesses combat illegal use of the internet for people to engage in bullying against people and their businesses. WE encourage you people who find it necessary to threaten our otherwise amazing place of business (and others that employ the disadavantaged and minorities of our community)
to try this new law. TAKE NOTICE- business owners will not stand for abuse and harrassment.
I AM APPALLED as an owner of an animal
hospital of the lack of responsibility and reckless ownership that I see that results in the punishment of pets. OWNERS give breeds like CHOWS, CHOW MIXES AND PIT BULLS bad raps and result in the eventual poor endings that claim ratings for bad behavior.
BE RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERS- KNOW WHEN YOUR DOG IS EXHIBITING BAD BEHAVIOR AND INTERVENE- IT MEANS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH ON EITHER SIDE OF THE HUMAN EQUATION!!!! Blaming your veterinarian for protecting the public and staff members is a weak excuse for "you can't control your dog". Parents that make excuses for immature children that are grown adults are another example of poor leadership by example.
Ravings as ratings are just that- Great businesses always will do well- less than minimal pet owners always exist and are the scourge of our society.
@Jenn K. I was in the lobby when you insulted Dr.MacIvor. The doctor doesn't need to put up with clients that are uneducated, and are very insulting towards her practice.

Dr. Sharon MacIvor seems to be the only Veterinarian in Miami Dade County, that uses Thymerosal free vaccines. I had launched an extensive phone search about one year ago, in the search for a Vet that uses Thymerosal free rabies vaccines. I was talking with the veterinary staff of over thirty Vet offices about the dangers of Thymerosal in vaccines in general, all of which were completely clueless. Most had never heared of Thymerosal! At last I found the Dadeland Animal Hospital and my little Maltese had her Thymerosal free rabies vaccine. If anyone cares enough about the health of pets, shouldn't a vet be the first one to know the difference? Well, Dr. MacIvor does! Today, as well as two days ago I came with my friend which is from France and doesn't speak English too well. She needed the International Health Certificate for her Yorkie for a medical emergency trip back to Paris. Words cannot describe how Milly, Tash and both Veterinarians combined their knowledge and efforts to make it possible for my friend to be able to get her Health Certificate. I have never met a Vet that had his staff call the office of the USDA for a personal appointment, then provide me with driving directions, which is standard procedure. The Anti Parasite Meds had been ordered and were to be delivered by UPS, when the delivery had been delayed, Milly and Tash brainstormed and called another Vet's office for the needed medication, then drove over and picked it up. First class service and incredible problem solving skills. To top it all of, Dr. MacIvor gave my friend her personal and private cell phone number, in case she would encounter any problems when arriving in Paris, to call her! We are living in Miami Beach and we would go to the end of the world to see Sharon MacIvor and her staff.
The Dadeland Animal Hospital has the most professional and efficient staff in Miami Dade County, they are above and beyond friendly, concerned for our pets well being and
they will do what ever it takes to help you and your pet.
THANKS GUYS, YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!
I enjoyed my experience at Dadeland Animal Hospital. As a first time customer they treated me and my pet with a warmth and inviting feeling. The front desk was extremely courteous, the receptionists were very understanding about what was going to get done for my pet and they had no problem explaining to me what was going to get done. It took at least 5 minutes and I was already being attended in a room, that was record time for me at any other clinic. Doctor Sharon MacIvor introduced herself and spotted something no other vet had seen, that just shows the knowledge she has in the field. I felt very comfortable with the technicians and my pet (which was a rescue) was not timid for the first time at a veterinary clinic. I left very pleased especially after knowing the price was going to be exactly what they had said and no more. Only $99 for the annual vaccines is a great price and I am glad to know my pet had a great experience just as I did. Now she runs in to the clinic to great the staff. what a great place. I will take my pet to Dadeland Animal Clinic forever. Loved the experience.
Dadeland Animal Hospital is awesome and amazing. I live in New York and I send via airline my dog Brandy, Parrot Capiton and cat Rockie down to see the amazing Dr Sharon MacIvor-Bauer, I love her she is the best Vetenarian in all the country. I would not even think about taking my pet children to see any other Doctor. I travel out of the country and Dadeland Animal Hospital does all of my paperwork preparing my animals for leaving and reentering the country. Dr Sharon MacIvor- Bauer is the only Veterinarian I would ever consider allowing to take care of my precious animals.
I just took recently my Golden Lad. to Doctor MacIvor for his annual's. As soon as i walked in i felt comfortable already by the greeting her employees gave me. Shortly after doing all the paperworks needed to be done i was set in the room and greeted by Doctor MacIvor herself, she then explained one by one of each of the vaccine she was administering and why, the Tech's where also amazing at comprehending my dog, quite honest i felt very comfortable and glad i chose Dadeland animal Hospital as my clinic for my best bud in the world.
Dr MacIvor is fantastic and a nice person. Perhaps you had a bad day, she saved my dog from Pancreatitis and we love her
I am appalled at this Veterinarian’s
lack of professionalism! My daughter recently visited this office and had her dog seen by Dr. Sharon McIvor Bauer. My daughter left the office in tears as a result of the way Dr. Bauer treated her dog. My daughter took the time to share her experience on this forum as that is what its intended purpose. Dr. McIvor-Bauer is obviously not pleased with the rating she received from that visit…SHE IS HAS CONTACTED THE EMERGENCY CONTACT THAT MY DAUGHTER LISTED ON THE NEW PATIENT FORM TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY DAUGHTER’S COMMENT ON THIS SITE!
When my daughter shared this with me I was so absolutely appalled that although I have never taken the time to leave a review about any product or service, I had to this time. How unprofessional!!
My daughter rescued this puppy 3 years ago. She is a very responsible pet owner. She has trained the dog herself and he is very well mannered. However when he is in unfamiliar surroundings he becomes apprehensive. It is certainly not uncommon for animals to be stressed at an Animal Hospital or to be uneasy when in or around unfamiliar surroundings, people, other animals etc. A professional, well-seasoned and compassionate vet or handler would take a few moments to ease and comfort the animal’s apprehension. Obviously Dr. McIvor-Bauer forgot this part of her training.
Her manner of handling the dog only further stressed the dog and then she proceeded to deprecate my 22 year old daughter to the point that when my daughter left the office she called me in tears! My daughter is pretty good at standing her ground and this was very UNLIKE her. However she loves her dog and as she put it…she felt like someone had been mean to her child and she did not like it.
Dr. McIvor-Bauer has not made any attempt to contact my daughter to try to make this right…instead she has ignored her and contacted the emergency contact my daughter listed to complain about the negative comment. This only further demonstrates that she is more interested in her rating than she is in her patient/client relationships. I wonder who she will complain to about my comment?
Perhaps Dr. McIvor-Bauer should realize that a candid review of her performance is an opportunity for her to better her skills where they are lacking.
I had an awful experience there. My dog
is uncomfortable at the vet I know this so when I get there I always ask for a muzzle. He has never bitten anyone but I don't want to take the risk.
I get into the office and the vet is telling the vet tech he need things done, and he reaches in a way that I guess the vet is uncomfortable and she's like NO this dog is going to bite you, and early precedes to say my dog bites. Now I am uncomfortable with the way my dog is being treated.
When I tell her I am uncomfortable with her behavior towards my dog she begins to tells lecture me how she has worked with wild animals and knows how to treat them and starts to lecturing me about how she can get sued for someone gets bitten. Then she starts to say how I need to get my dog trained before he bites someone face off.
So unprofessional. I left in tears. I will never take my dog back ever. I don't care if the price are affordable I want my dog to be treated right.
