RUDE EMPLOYEES, HORRIBLE SERVICE. Went into Lucila's to get a quote on a bridal shower cake for a dear friend. Having already gotten some great design ideas and excellent help at other similar cake bakers I was looking forward to see what Lucila's had to offer. I walked into the store and not one person asked if they could help me. I asked an employee if she had bridal shower books and she pointed at a table and said "I think its over there." Then I spotted some cake samples, I said "Is this your rum cake" to which she responded "I'm not sure" and walked away. I then approached another employee to give her an idea of the kind of cake I wanted and she showed absolutely no interest in what I was saying and was even interrupted by another employee showing her pictures on a digital camera. Beyond rude. I walked out at that point without even caring what the price would've been. Horrible service. Will never go back and will make sure to tell all my family and friends to never return.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT LUCILA. On Saturday January 12,2008 my wife went to Lucila to place an order for close to $200 to pay for a cake for my niece's wedding .After she had placed the order my needed to use the rest room and ask the clerk for permission.She was DENIED.. She was told that it was only for the employees and that the owner did not allowed any clients to use the bathroom.My wife called me crying.She went to Mc Donalds and used the facilities there.I told my wife to cancel the order and go to another bakery.It seems to me that if these people do not care about the clients we should not buy anything from them............
avoid South Miami bakery. Terrible service..
"Sweet Art by Lucila" might have superb designs and the cakes they make taste great but their service at their South Miami bakery was a terrible experience for my wife and I. Here below is a email that we sent to "Sweet Art by Lucila".
First of all that my wife and I want to say is that not only myself but also my wife and with our family and close friends will not step into your business again. My wife and I went over to your South Miami bakery a couple of days ago. We were expecting service and a warm welcome to your business and all we got was bad service. We were never waited on or even asked if we needed help. As us awaiting our first baby, we are so excited about being parents. Well we were looking for a superb bakery that is excellent with every aspect of cake baking we went to see "Sweet Art by Lucila". I sure got to tell you that we felt upset and insulted that we were ignored and when I had to go over to one of your employees to ask for some help she pretty much didn't have no interest in helping, or asking us usual question to what type of engagement we are planning to do! She placed the book on the counter, pointed at it and walked away. You tell me if that is good practices and being courteous to your customers?
We had a hard time looking for our baby shower cake and in the end we just picked up and left. Not even a "How may I help you" or "hello", or "What type of cake do you need", or "How many people are attending your engagement" and "When is the date".
I have to say just because of the amount of business you do for your clients with custom cakes and also your other selections you sell to the local supermarkets doesn't mean you forget about your customers that not only take their time like myself from my busy day but also drive a long distance of miles to get to your establishment to only get ignored and terrible service.
Beautiful, affordable and delicious wedding cakes but they should pay attention to details. I went to the Pembroke Pines location for my wedding cake. I think Sweet Art provided and excellent product for the price. The cake was delicious and moist. We stuck with the classic vanilla-rum and it was so moist, we decided not to do filling. They can also work magic with their buttercream toppings in all sorts of colors so we just used fondant for decorations. I received a ton of complements on the flavor of the cake. Sweet Art was also provided a mirrored stand and delivered the cake for a reasonable charge. My only pet peaves were that the three tiered cake we modeled ours after looked much larger than what we actually received. Also, they must have done a rush job because the inedible materials they used to design my bow topper were still left in the cake at the reception! Luckily, my husband and I took the top tier home so no one noticed :-}
