Wow - what happened to this place???. I have been gone from Miami for a while and when I would visit, I would go to BE and get a meal. Always delicious, always great service and always a friendly atmosphere. I walked in and something was different. The place looked different and felt different. It didn't seem clean. And the absense of an hour wait should have been my first sign. Back in the day, when I lived here (until the early 90's) I owned several waterfront restaurants and even bought my Sunday Brunch bagels here. Well, I have moved back. And this afternoon myself and a friend went in for some lunch/brunch whatever. It just wasn't good at all. And it seemed that the patrons around me where having trouble too. The waiter was terrible. You would ask him for something and he would disappear and not bring it. People were waving him and the Manager?? down the whole time we were there, I ordered chopped chicken liver on a bagel and my friend order lox, eggs and onions. It was delivered without any utensils and no bagel with the eggs. The CCL was turning bad, the pot salad was not homemade and was turning as well. The tomato slices with my bagel were crunchy. My friend's eggs were not delicious either. I can't remember a time when I received a bad meal there. Until now. I told the waiter about the potato salad and he said it's not very good and everyone complains. Where are my jewish friends that used to own the place? Because I am sure there are new owners and man, they don't get it. Too bad as this was a Miami Icon. No more. Go to Coral Bagels a little farther North - much better food and service, and on the Beach, Jerry's Famous Deli!! Great food and service as well.

Best Bagels in miami. The Bagel Emporium has reasonably priced food that is simple but good. The bagels are baked fresh each morning and the Onion soup is great. They have a nice variety of foods including salads and sandwiches. This place is nothing fancy but is nice to go with friends or to pick up some bagels to take home.

They will overcharge, then argue with you about it.. I must agree with the poster below regarding overcharging. I was overcharged for some eggs this morning, and when I informed the cashier (manager?), he went to get the menu to "show me" why I was wrong. Except that he was unable to understand his own menu, and could not explain why I was charged so much. At one point he even conceded to his coworker that I "had a point." But instead of just refunding me the dollar, he asked why I was fighting over a dollar. At that point I told him to charge me whatever he wanted and left. Perhaps the better question is why they would be willing to lose a customer over a dollar, particularly when they are wrong about how to interpret their own menu. Hint to people at bagel emporium: If one topping costs $1, then two toppings cost $2.

visit from cincinnati. Both of my sons are alumni of U.M. . My older son is an architect (Arquitectonica) in Miami and I often visit . I look forward to breakfast at the bagel emporium. The food is super and the service is the same. . I order Passover meals that are outstanding .

Charged $4.00 for Gravy. I ordered a country fried steak this morning at bagel emporium and asked for some extra gravy. I was charged $4.00 for the extra gravy which was 50% of the price of the meal itself. Upon hearing this I informed the server and management to take the meal back which was at this point untouched. The manager then became very rude and threatened to call law enforcement unless I agreed to pay for the meal in full. This turned out to be a sad attempt at extortion as when I agreed to speak with an officer the manager just told me to leave. I will never go back to this place and would advise the same to anyone else.

delicious breakfast. bagel emporium is the best place in coral gables for a quick, casual breakfast. the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. be sure to try the bagels, tuna salad, and the omeletts.
