Editorial Review for Titanic Brewing Company – by Victoria Pesce Elliot
In Short
Although it's located right next to the University of Miami campus, you won't find frat boys funneling beers at the next table. Instead it's a low-key hangout for students, young professionals and UM staffers. The Cajun/Mediterranean/American menu offers such out there fare as the oyster po-boy served with bean sprouts and red peppers. Other items include the huge and lean burger and maple-grilled salmon. Desserts include chocolate pecan pie.

Well, here's my two cents worth. I visited Miami about two years ago and made it to the Titanic Pub. At the time I had read the other reviews and wanted to see for myself. Frankly, I was quite impressed, especially for a Florida brewpub (is that an oxymoron?). The beers were superb, nice looking place too. Lots of dark woods and copper. Even the bench-type seats were real leather! The food was very good, and the server was efficient, knowledgeable and easy-on-the-eyes. Overall, I really liked the place. If I were to ever own a pub, I would want it to be like this place. I re-visited the place last month during another Miami trip. The food was still very good and the menu had been expanded quite a bit. I would honestly say that the mussels were the best I've had anywhere. They now have a full bar (meaning liquor) and have added large screen TVs all over. The bathrooms were clean and the overall place seems to be "kept-up" nicely. The staff is extremely nice, the beers rock, the foods good and so is the service. BOTTOM LINE - Even with all the crazy mixed reviews, there's a reason that this place continues to thrive! They do it right and I commend them for it. I would say this is a "don't miss" if your in the Miami area.
Pros: Great fresh beer, good food & service, live music too!
Cons: Sometimes theres a waiting line

Okay here's the deal, the service here SUCKS, but it's a fun place to drink and listen to live bands. It's always impossible to get a drink, so may I suggest ordering doubles...or, I have had better luck on the restaurant side, but the atmosphere is not as lively. They do have good food; and really good meatloaf. The mussels are good too. They use to have good calamari but last time I went they tasted like fried rubberbands. Bottom line: food is pretty good, atmosphere is "fun", and the service is horrible.
Pros: live music, fresh beer
Cons: service, bartenders, service
