Still the first stop on any music lover's list.. In Short
Florida's homegrown music retail chain has lost a bit of its monopoly on the local scene as the Virgin Megastore moved into town and Latin and worldbeat music has taken off. Nonetheless, Spec's is still the first stop on any music-lover's list and remains the most reliable place to find current pop chart-toppers and CD singles by the Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin and Puff Daddy. Prices are reasonable, but if you're looking for imports or obscure alternative or roots rock bands, you may have to seek out Yesterday and Today, Blue Note Records or one of the other music boutique stores around town. Some stores carry videos and DVDs too.

Tons of Tunes. A plethora of music. We stopped in on our journey from the Keys to North Miami. The store has an impressive CD collection, virtually any type of music you could think of. We spent a great deal of time just browsing and no one rushed us. The young staff was helpful but not pushy. Next time we come to Miami we'll plan to spend a few hrs. here. They have everything.
