This is my first review...ever. I'm not a review writer as a general rule. I usually save my opinion for people who ask for it. Unless of course it's a call of duty...such as today. It is my duty to tell you that Casola's is awesome. I've had pizza all over the world...in Naples, even, where pizza was invented. Casola's is by far my favorite. I live in California and only come to Miami to visit in-laws. Casola's is my only upside. It's a dump...that's true but I don't go there for ambience. I go there for pizza: It's thin and perfectly crispy and the sauce is both salty AND sweet. It's genius. Don't be a heretic and get toppings...cheese is the ONLY way to go...if you want toppings, get the Calzone. I hear those are great too. This pizza is so good, in fact, that I actually had them freeze two large pies and ship them from Miami to California. (true story) because I am so addicted and because they are so delicious! If you are a real pizza lover...you owe it to yourself to at least give Casola's a try. Despite the fact that the first slice is not free...trust me, there's a good chance you'll get addicted!

I have no idea why so many people have told me how good this place is. It's a total dump. The pizza slices are large and cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you want quality pizza for just $1.50 more per slice, go down the street to Coconut grove and try Cazzolli's. They are THE original pizza joint serving huge delicious slices of pizza. Given you'll pay for $4-$5 per slice, but again, you get what you pay for! I also had a sub sandwich that was AWEFUL. Limited number of toppings are piled on in a sloppy fashion. Deli meats are also of poor quality. Your better off going to the Quizno's across the street.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Taste, Subs are TERRIBLE
