Tips for Myra & Co Day Spa

Sophisticated and Warm. I have been going to Myra & Company for 11 years. I started going because it was a high-end salon and spa that was open 7 days a week, and as a full-time attorney it really helped to be able to get quality services any time that I could shoe-horn them into my life.

I've stayed with Myra & Company all these years for four reasons. They have truly warm, skillful staff. They keep on top of trends but are very careful about the ones that they decide to follow (e.g., when a lot of nail places invested in pedicure chairs, Myra & Company didn't do it because they knew that the elaborate chairs could not be adequately sterilized). They offer so many things, done so well, that I can get everything I want taken care of in one place, leaving refreshed, relaxed, and ready for the world. There's even healthy, yummy food at their cafe!

And the fourth reason? They have always accommodated my needs. For example, when I've had early morning events, Myra herself has come to do my hair, and when I was seriously ill and in the hospital, they got products to me. I will always appreciate these things, which are what make them feel like a genuine part of the community, and a happy part of my life.

Just Okay---Not Spectacular---Will do in a Pinch. This salon tries to be good at it all and I think they could improve if they focus on the key services they want to be good at...its hard to deliver good spa treatments, hair, nails and now a fitness center? Listing my input by services I've tried...I've gone to them on and off for over 3 yrs so they must be doing something right but for the money it just leaves you wanting a little more. And in general you will wait 15 min or so no matter if arrive on time. And not the best at coordinating multiple services.

Massage - Good experience prices just okay...technicians have changed since I last went but I've moved on to other massage places.

Hair...I've gone for a while to a master level stylist and just okay results nothing spectacular. I've been long over due for changing but it is relatively easy to get an appt. and if I keep it simple they do a good enough job.

Nails...this where they shine...I've gone to 3 different technicians and they all rock! Edith is one of my favorites. And $60 for mani/pedi that lasts is totally worth it...awesome leg massage w. the pedi!!!

keep looking. Not a good experience. For this kind of money, I expected something really swanky, with a cushy couch, a robe, and a complimentary cappucino. My mom and I went for a "spa day". We each had massages, which were fine, (but massages are always nice; I've never had a BAD massage). Mom really liked her facial, but we both disliked the manicures and pedicures. The armchairs are uncomfortable, (for this price, can't they afford those massage pedicure chairs with the foot bath attachments?), and for the feet, they used METAL BOWLS. No plug in massage tub, just metal mixing bowls filled with water. For a $40 pedicure! My advice: go South on US 1 to any walk-in nail place, pay $20, sit in the comfy chair, and count all the money you saved. The manicure was worse. It's 30 hours later, and all the polish peeled off already. My nails were oily from the paraffin, and the polish didn't stick to them. I've had $8 manicures that lasted at least three days. This was a $30 manicure that cost about a buck an hour! $30 for 30 hours! Also, mom's manicurist spoke NO english at all. I stopped by the front desk between treatments, and there was a cake dish of mini cupcakes. I asked if these were for the guests, and the cashier said yes. I ate one, and they added $2 to the bill!! Then I asked for a Sprite Zero, and they added another buck. For this kind of money, throw in a cupcake and a soda, for the love of God. If you want a swanky spa day, go elsewhere. If you want a great mani/pedi, go elsewhere. If you want a great massage, keep looking. Stay away from Myra and Company unless you're jonesing for a $2 mini cupcake and a manicure that lasts a day.

Best Kept Spa Secret in Miami!. This is one of the best spa/salons in Miami. It's away from the traditional Coral Gables/South Beach nexus where you generally expect to find a spa of this quality. They have an incredibly extensive menu of services, from manicures and pedicures to body wraps and treatments. There is an excellent cafe for you to order meals from while you're being pampered. The staff is professional and friendly, missing that "aura of superiority" you sometimes get from the more famous locations, and the quality of service is second to none. I've been going there for almost 6 years, and I look forward to every visit. They are always bringing in the latest proven products and technologies, so this is the place if you're looking for some of the hard-to-find brands, like Ojon. There's even an adjacent pilates studio so you can feel better about all the self-indulgence! :) Highly recommended.
