Best sushi and best price in the county!. It's the freshest, and unless you resort to something like Iron Sushi, it's also the cheapest sushi in town by a long shot. He gets special deliveries twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday I think) and those are great days to ask what he might have as a treat. His battera (box mackerel), is one of my personal favorites and something that most places in town don't carry. The sushi salad at under three bucks is a steal. I've been lucky enough to have monk fish liver a couple times plus he has the freshest uni in town.

Friendly service, great food, low price, and a great market too! You really should be eating here for lunch. It's not a fancy place at all, just a wee little sushi bar hidden away waiting for you to find it.

Edited review..2010 Price & quality leave much to be desired. I felt the need to come back and change my review of this establishment. For the amount of times and the distance I drive to get to this place, you would think the owner would remember me by now. Unfortunately, I seem to be the doormat customer. The last 3, yes 3, times that I have dined here.. I've noticed other customers receive special treatment while I am served what seems like left overs. I am not asking for special treatment, but don't serve me crap either! At the very least, ACT like you are glad to have another customer!

On our last visit.. we ordered one of the sushi specials.. Each piece of fish/shellfish was trimmed paper thin and to the exact size of the tiny rice balls. Usually, the fish overlaps the rice in ANY sushi restaurant that you go to! We then ordered the dragon roll that is supposed to have mango, crispy shrimp, and avocado. The shrimp were so tiny that they were only noticeable in 4 of the 8 pieces and the mango was on one side while the avocado was on the other..TERRIBLE. I also ordered 4 pieces of spanish mackeral yet received 3 and was charged for 4.

All in all, I spent well over $100(like I always do here) and left feeling hungry. The previous two recent experiences were very similar. The economy seems to have caught up with this greedy, forgetful owner. I will never return unless I need a large bottle of sake or feel the need to make sushi at home since their market sells many Japanese products. However, MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES!

Sake is the cheapest you will find anywhere. The sushi at the sushi bar is the freshest you will find anywhere. Make sure to try the toro and spanish makeral when they are available! Great specials!!
