Shula's and Applebee's Compete. I bought a Shula's gift certificate for my daughter and her fiancĂ©e. He had just returned from Afghanistan after being away for 8 months and I thought this would be a great welcome home present. I was wrong. I was embarrassed when I heard about the food. To summarize, the steak was bad and the shrimp was overcooked and the sides were cold. Suffices to say they left the majority of their food on plate. Their total bill was $190.00, which at a Bern's Steakhouse (Tampa), and Abe & Louie's (Boca), Capital Grill (Ft Lauderdale) and restaurants of that ilk is standard, was way overpriced for the sub-standard fare that quite frankly could have been served at a Chili's or Applebee's. I have been to a few of the Shula's restaurants, some more than a few times and have not had a bad experience, but here's the clincher: I wrote Shula's regarding the disappointing dinner on 9/20/2010 and as of today, 10/14/2010 haven't heard back, not even any type of promise to improve, give them another chance or apology. The message I got from this experience is that Shula's new business model is to gouge at your wallet the first time because they don't care if you come back. It's a shame that Shula's tries to play in a market they're obviously outclassed in by most steakhouses I've been to.…

Great Steaks Great View. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE WAIT STAFF WAS PROMPT, COURTEOUS,FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND EFFIE CENT. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. THE STEAKS VERY TENDER AND WELL PREPARED EXACTLY THE WAY WE LIKED (nothing had to be sent back). THE LOBSTER BISQUE AND THE FRENCH ONION SOUP WERE EXCELLENT. FOR DESSERT (it was my son n laws b-day) THEY SERVED A RICH CHOCOLATE CAKE THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. RICH MOIST AND VERY CHOCOLATY. OVER ALL WE HAD A VERY PLEASURABLE TIME AND ENJOYED OUR TIME THERE. WILL DEFINITELY GO AGAIN."…
Shula's winning tradition on the field continues at this classy steakhouse chain..
In Short
The chop house's elegance is indisputable, yet there is an oddly casual spirit to a place in which the menu is written on a football and set at your table on a kicking tee.
Certified Angus Beef doesn't come cheap, and the sides are priced a la carte, but the nationally renowned steakhouse always finds a way to make the cut for those willing to pay for quality.…
The worst meal ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I would never go back. The service was awful. We told the waiter we would like to have a drink before ordering. He came back to the table 4 times in five minutes to take our order. We had to keep reminding him we were not in a hurry, then he rudely said " aren't you hungry yet"? We were never shown the food cart and explained any of the menu as all the other tables surrounding us. We felt very discriminated against. After we did order our dinner it came quickly and was not prepared the way we ordered it. It was very marginal, not worth the price. The manager did try to resolve all the issues of the evening, he was very pleasant. But quite honestly the damage was done. Very disappointing, would never go back and not recommend to anyone.…
