This three-story hotel was built in 1941 and renovated in 1997. It boasts 105 Art Deco-styled rooms as well as a Deco lobby bar. Its chief lure is its location. Visitors to Miami
choose this property because it is just steps from the nightclubs, restaurants and bars of Ocean Drive. It is also right across the street from the beach.
The Details
The rooms are divided between two adjacent properties, the Avalon and the Majestic, with rooms in the latter being the more bare bones. All rooms supply complimentary bottled water. While there's no gym or pool on the property, guests can use both at the nearby South Seas Hotel. The hotel's popular seafood restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, offers an outside terrace where diners can engage in the chief activity of South Beach--people-watching.
