Avalon Hotel. My Husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Avalon. The location is excellent, the room was great: clean, nice decor, and an awesome view. The desk staff were always efficient, friendly and helpful. We live on the west coast of Florida and plan to visit the area again and will be glad to stay at the Avalon again.

My Stay. I stayed at the Avalon Hotel this past week and it was MARVELOUS. Upon arrival our room was ready and without hesitation, we were checked in and on the beach! The staff was well informed and very pleasant.

Reasonable prices and clean rooms in the heart of South Beach.. The Scene
This three-story hotel was built in 1941 and renovated in 1997. It boasts 105 Art Deco-styled rooms as well as a Deco lobby bar. Its chief lure is its location. Visitors to Miami choose this property because it is just steps from the nightclubs, restaurants and bars of Ocean Drive. It is also right across the street from the beach.

The Details
The rooms are divided between two adjacent properties, the Avalon and the Majestic, with rooms in the latter being the more bare bones. All rooms supply complimentary bottled water. While there's no gym or pool on the property, guests can use both at the nearby South Seas Hotel. The hotel's popular seafood restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, offers an outside terrace where diners can engage in the chief activity of South Beach--people-watching. A flamenco guitarist often plays during dinner.
