Great Art Deco Hote. I had worries about this place when I booked it... Saw a few bad reviews. The reviews were way off. We had a group of 3 guys and booked a standard room. For whatever reason, the site that I booked it on, put us in a room with 1 queen bed. Immediately, the gentleman at the front desk was able to get us another room. The room was small, but you could see it was very clean and kept up. Perfect location on South Beach! This probably isn't a place for families, though, as it is a very large party area.

A funky, retro hotel with lavender-colored rooms and a take-no-prisoners lobby.. The Scene
Modern designer Barbara Hulanicki introduced bright, striking colors and funky, geometric furnishings throughout this 54-room boutique hotel. The symphony of shades and shapes is not for the timid, but rather for the adventurous and young-at-heart. This is one hip place-just check out the sorbet-colored and velour-upholstered square settees arranged on the lobby's original terrazzo floors, or laze in a retro lounge chair in the vibrant garden courtyard.

The Details
Spacious lavender-painted guest rooms include fully stocked minibars, large work desks, cable TV, data ports and CD players with CD libraries. The 800-square-foot Lucite Suite has, as the name suggests, a whole lot of Lucite furnishings and accessories, accented with shiny mother-of-pearl. Standard rooms are decorated functionally, with wood floors and lightwood furnishings. They offer a relaxing contrast to the Alice-in-Wonderland quality of the lobby and public areas.

User review by divilish. I had a very nice stay! This is truely a unique hotel and the price is GREAT compared to the others I priced a block or two away! I will be staying there again in the very near future. Also the employee's were very nice when I am used to having so-so service at most hotels I stay at, even the larger name-brand ones. In-room Internet access would have been a plus.

Incredible. I would like to say that the employees are great, the rooms are clean, and the complimentary breakfast is just perfect. One thing that I would like to change is the lobby, I think that the furniture needs an upgrade.

Another thing that I would like to add, I never saw a security officer around.

Best value in South Beach.. To be honest, we only booked this hotel because it was the cheapest place we could find. However, the place is awesome!! Yeah, the rooms aren't big, but they are very well-done in unique colors. They have a CD player, and have upscale Aveda products in the bathrooms. The service is amazing- the desk clerks were downright helpful and friendly. The location of Kent is amazing! Very close to the beach and nightlife- no cabs needed. And it has the coolest lobby- huge projection clock and free internet access. Free beach towels too! Only negatives: the TV is tiny, and there is no bar or pool.
