Old as Dirt....visit spring break 2012.
This not the place to stay.( NO ELEVATOR 4 floors) NO Parking at hotel....Parking is $20.00 a day, garage 4 blocks from hotel, street parking is max 8 hours.
The shower had mold, the walls next to the shower had mold, the shower curtain 1 inch above stall so the floor flooded, the toilet paper holder was across the room away from the toilet, the sink really rocked: had to shove newspaper under a leg to hold it on place, could not converse with staff as they did not speak English.
The restaurant next door: Catch 22 was a huge mistake for breakfast, the staff running around in jammie pants, and basically they could care less about what they serve and service. Food was awful.
If i could post pictures I would. Also gratuity was added on to the bill when given to you. Party size did not matter.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!. Even after arriving over an hour after check in time the room wasn't ready with no given explanation why. After explicitly telling them not to post some ridiculous $50 charge to my card and being told they wouldn't, when they barely competent front desk girl went to check me in it was immediately posted!! I told her to call my card service and have the money returned and she told me it would be by Monday morning. Today is WEDNESDAY and when I called my card service there was NO record of them contacting them!! Absolutely no excuse!! I will NEVER stay there again!!
Great Price for Location!. I must admit this hotel was not the best I have stayed in....however you are paying a VERY low price and with most things, you get what you pay for! The elevator was scary and broke down the last day. There were insects in our bathroom and 1 in the bed. However it's 2 blocks (about 5 minute walk at the most) from the beach and collins ave! About 2 minutes from the clubs and resteraunts! PERFECT LOCATION 4 A TOURIST! Look I wasn't there for the hotel I was there for the outside! Also customer service was good! Highly recommand if your going on vacation for the beach, resteraunts, shopping and clubbing!
An art deco original with a great location and cheap rates..
The Lowdown
The facilities are nearly identical to those of its mother-hotel, the Park Washington Resort, but the Kenmore has one unique, outstanding feature. It boasts a sleek, swooping art-deco bar that's extremely popular among locals on those rare nights when it opens for business. Slumming celebrities have been known to make an appearance here, as have certain underworld types.
The Scene
In general, the hotel is frequented by ordinary-looking travelers who keep a low profile (although there isn't much that the landscaping and low walls can hide from public view). It shares with the Park Washington, Taft, and Belaire Apartments some stylish deco architecture, original terrazzo floors in the lobby, a small lima-shaped pool, and a few kitchenettes. The location alone makes it a good value: it's only a few blocks away from hotels costing three to four times as much.
