The Scene – This luxury hotel was built in 1939 in the heyday of the art-deco craze. It was designed by architect L. Murray Dixon and was once known as the Tiffany--the old neon sign remains. The rooftop pool and bar overlook Ocean Drive, the Atlantic Ocean and beyond. Guests enjoy convenient proximity to sand, surf and boutique shops. – – The Details – The 53 spacious guest rooms and suites, as well as public areas, were furnished by fashion designer Todd Oldham in 1998 during the hotel's restoration. This is a NO GO!

Worst experience I have ever had in Miami. I go often, and would not recommend The Hotel/Spire Bar. Service was poor and food was just okay. The drinks were watered down, and the bartenders were very unpleasant. For such a swanky, and well talked about place, save yourself and go somewhere else!
Poor Service

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to South Beach. I agree with the other posts that the customer is never right. The bartenders, bell hops, registration employees spoke with attitude and made me feel inadequate. The hotel's manager is a know it all, pushy and unaccomodating man who has little respect for the few guests the hotel had during my stay. Mr. Manager, your slicked up suit and pushed back hair do not do you any good because your customer service skills lack tremendously. Bar tenders throughout favored individuals and treated others like peasants. This hotel was disappointing and made me feel like a third class citizen. Too bad you will not see repeat business from myself or my colleagues again.
- Cons: Customer service
Great Hotel with a Great Pool Scene

I love this hotel! I have stayed here about 5 or 6 times and always enjoy it. The rooms are small but functional. The rainfall showers are great especially nice if you're tall like me. Despite some of the other reviews, I really find the staff to be nice and helpful. They really know the area as well and can help you with any type of bar or restaurant info. The one exception is the valet. They are contracted by the hotel and are really SLOW! Expect 20 - 30 minutes to get your car. Not a good value for the $25 per day. I recommend street parking. It's surprisingly easy to find and you can park for four hours on your credit card for $1 per hour. and overnight is free!
The best part of this hotel is the rooftop pool. It is simply gorgeous! It is a great place for the fun people have fun. There is a great view of the beach and lots of comfortable chaises. The pool is topless and, in general, that's the rule. It's a very relaxed scene and my girl enjoyed wearing as little as possible and getting rid of her tan lines. Feel free to loose your inhibitions at this pool. Truly South Beach at it's best!
The pool bartenders are really great too, especially Martin and Calisto. They are very relaxed and have fun and will really take care of you. Try one of the house specialty frozen mojitos. But, please do not bring your kids here.
- Pros: Rooftop pool
- Cons: Valet parking
