do no stay.. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. When checking in...the front desk staff was rude and incompetent. When we finally got to our room - there was already someone booked in that room...man was that embarrassing as we opened the door...to find someone else already in there. Once we finally were given another room... it was definitely subpar. I would never stay at this hotel again, and I would suggest the same to you.…
Great boutique hotel.
I must say that the hotel was a great place to be this past weekend. I came to Miami to visit my family for Thanksgiving and stayed for 5 nights. As soon as I arrived to the hotel, I felt at home,
the beds were extremely comfortable, I didn't want to leave the room!
The location is great, right in the middle of the action, it can get a bit noisy at night on Ocean Drive with people walking, talking, music playing, but hey isn't that why we come to South Beach??? I was amongst those making noise by staying out late with my family on some nights till 5-6 in the morning.
I would recommend this hotel to those that are looking to getaway and spend some time on South Beach and to those that can handle a truly South Beach experience. Thanks to the Front Desk agents that made my stay great, Manny, Julio, and a gentleman who worked the overnight, I think his name was Alex.
I look forward to my next stay at the Beacon!

Overpriced. Well, the first night was 175, the next three nights were 275. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. For that price, you would at least expect eggs in the morning..nope, just toast and a dannon yogurt with juice and awful coffee (Johnny Rockets). I did some shopping around and for ten more dollars a night I could have gotten a ocean front room at the nicer end of the beach (15th/Collins) with AMAZING views of the ocean (not the street, like you get at the Beacon), private pool with tiki bar and a REAL hotel expierence. Also, you don't have people smashing menus in your face when you leave the hotel. This hotel is loud and overpriced. Never ever again. OVERPRICED.…
A newly renovated Art Deco gem perfect for people watching..
The Scene
Built in 1937, this five-story beachfront landmark features 81 spacious rooms and suites, all with ocean views. It was completely renovated in 2002 with modern amenities. A very
busy restaurant with outdoor seating is located on the first floor. The hotel's ideal location puts designer shopping, art galleries, trendy sidewalk cafes and popular nightspots all within easy walking distance.
The Details
All rooms have mini bars, in-room safes, down comforters, coffee makers, morning newspaper and data ports, as well as high-speed Internet access. The walls are painted a soothing white that is strikingly accented with marble floors, dark furnishings and pastel Art Deco accessories. Complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning. VCRs are available on request. There's no swimming pool on-site, but a fitness center was added in 2004, and guests have privileges at the nearby Lancôme spa. The concierge can provide guest-list entry to many local nightclubs.…
3 Star Experience/4 Star Price. The facade and lobby of this hotel have been beautifully and immaculately restored. However the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Avoid first floor rooms (there are two of them) at all costs. They afford a lovely view of the alley where the kitchen garbage is kept, and rock to the sounds (ALL NIGHT) of the hotel washing machine next door. We got "upgraded" to a better room the next night. It was a vast improvement, but still a far cry from a luxury experience (shower stall, no tub, and a view of a the wall of the building next door). The hotel staff was extremely friendly, which helped to salvage this stay a little, but I would not recommend this hotel for the price.…
