25.768323 -80.135398 View WebsiteSmith is steak place with a great view. The view is unique and rather great but the place as a food establishment is just ok and for the price it is not remarkable. The view is worth bringing someone to but I would recommend light fair and drinks instead of a large meal.
A tourist trap with a gorgeous view. This is a great place to go for a sunset glass of wine or two, but overall this is the definition of tourist trap: great location, gorgeous views, crap food, and overpriced. That said, I do go there for drinks every now and then for a change of pace.
This place is terrible. I recently took a customer who was in town from Germany to this restaurant thinking the steaks, ambience and outdoor setting would be perfect. I was sorely mistaken. First our waiter seemed too busy chatting with another waiter to take our order. Secondly, the time it took to get our appetizers was very long, despite there being relatively few people in the restaurant. Third, I heard the waiters making disparaging comments about some of the other guests within earshot of those guests. Had the guests been paying attention I imagine they would have walked out. Fourth, the food was atrocious. You would think paying $40 a steak you would great terrific food. My "filet minion" cooked medium, looked exactly like charcoal or a space rock. My business partner's fish was undercooked and smelled like they found it in the trash, and the sirloin steak my customer got looked like road-kill. I noticed there were a lot of stray cats around the table too, which are probably fed from guests who want to get rid of their terrible meals. Fifth and most offensively, I tipped the waiter $35 and when I got my credit card bill yesterday, he had added another $10 to his tip and the bill!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! There is MUCH BETTER food to be had at Morton's in Miami or just about any other restaurant!!
I LOVE this place.
I ate dinner here with my husband last night for our 5 year anniversary. Everything was great, little pricey, but we didn't mind because we NEVER go out. It was a nice surprise and i will definitely beg him to take me back.

A HIDDEN TREASURE. Well my girls and i were in town from Los Angeles and we wanted a place to get drinks and apps before going out. Our concierge recommended S&W. We werent sure it was kind of on the other end of the beach and we have been to NY and it was kind of a mens only kind of restaurant. We were here for a girls trip and we did have doubts but boy were we wrong! We first walked in and were greeted by smiling, welcoming faces(unusual in south beach) We proceeded to the outside dining area. This hidden treasure was amazing! We were shocked i mean The view was amazing but suprisingly we were around beautiful young single people.( This place is a must with the single crowd!) We had bonded with the bartenders and they could not have been nicer! We ended up getting a little hungry and they recommended some things tuna tataki, the beer battered shrimp and the mac n cheese. WOW WOW WOW they were out of this world! We had such a good time that we came back the next day for lunch! The menu for lunch is I think better than the dinner. The menu contains different things and the prices were not bad. I went with the burger and i think it was like $13. This burger was fantastic and huge. I ordered it with gorgonzola cheese (try that) We all had different things but went overboard on dessert! Coconut cake is something i have never had before! These cakes are sinful! S&W will be added to our favorite places to visit .They should make one in California! From start to finish to the location, staff , and food we had nothing but an A+ experience! Thank you to our concierge Bali from the Delano for the awesome advice!! Without a doubt go try this hidden treasure out!
Great food and great view!. My husband and I recently visited Smith & Wollensky to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and I can't say enough about how great everything was! We sat at one of the outside tables, overlooking the water and the view was gorgeous! To start, we shared the calamari appetizer which was great! Then for dinner, I ordered the gorgonzola crusted Filet Mignon and my husband ordered the Cajun Ribeye and for sides we shared the Truffled Mac and Cheese and steamed broccoli. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection and were so flavourful! Some of the best steaks we've ever had! Lastly, for dessert, we shared the chocolate cake...or attempted to...it was huge and so delicious! Overall, it was the perfect way to spend our 1 year anniversary and we will definitely be returning very soon!
Major disappointment. Called away from the bar and had to stand outside for 15 minutes before table was ready. More than 5 minutes at the table before waiter ever acknowledged us. Wine list was fair. Appetizer was okay. We ordered a second bottle of wine to go with dinner 15 minutes before dinner arrived. 15 minutes after dinner arrived the wine finally showed up. The prime rib wasn't up to the standards of the local supermarket - probably the fattiest pieces of prime rib I have ever seen - however, they were cooked perfectly. Never have I gotten a combination of poor service and poor quality food in what is supposedly a first class place and we spent over $150.00 per person for this disappointment.
Horrible service and not attentive to customers. Food is not worth the price..
I was taken to the restaurant for my birthday. We overlooked to order sides. We had the filet mignon and only realized that we forgot to order our sides when we saw the plates headed our way with only meat. We asked the waiter, ?we forgot to order our sides?. He responded to us, well ?the kitchen is really busy tonight, by the time we place the side order your steaks will get cold, maybe next time?. We were in shock to say the least. ?maybe next time? , Did he think there would be a next time after the poor service. We did not get water and everyone around us got bread and we had to ask for ours. The original waiter left us and another brought the dessert and the check. I mean we were speechless.
We have visited several of fine steak houses the service and attention was remarkable. Every time you go to any of these restaurants they ask ?is this your first time?? I think this was ridiculous and incredible that he said ?maybe next time?. I felt cheated. I seriously wished that I had never gone to the restaurant this past Saturday. As I further searched this morning for reviews to post my own on the restaurant, I found that I am not the only one who has had this experience. I don?t think that I will ever go to your restaurant in any city and if I can discourage more people I will. I don?t think it is fair to spend $200 for dinner and not be satisfied.
Worst Service on South Beach. The food at Smith & Wollensky is great. I was extremely disappointed in how poor the service was at this establishment as it is so great at other Smith & Wollensky locations around the United States. The waiter did such a horrible job of waiting on us. I spoke with the manager and he recommended that I phone the General Manager directly. I did and left a message for him to call me back and I never heard a word from him. Because of this poor acknowledgement from the GM I have decided to NEVER eat at any Smith & Wollensky no matter the location. This type of service is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!
First visit in Miami was this, per Cab Driver's Recommendation. If you'r on a tight budget, you can still come here. Good food, good service, good prices, good everything. This place was the first place I went fromthe airport, the first time in miami. Really set a good mood for my vacation. thanks
