Editorial Review for Smith & Wollensky – by Bill Citara

The Scene
It's the gorgeous waterfront views that tell you you're in South Beach, though the restaurant is free of attitudinal servers and ubiquitous SoBe trendoids.

The Food
The dry-aged steaks are of exceptional quality, and the kitchen knows how to cook 'em to tender, juicy, gloriously flavorful perfection. Note, however that not all beef is dry-aged--only the day's specials and sirloin off the regular menu. The sirloin is a fine piece of meat, but it's upstaged by the massive ribeye, a cut unmatched for flavor and tenderness. Sides are all a la carte; skip the onion rings, which are grainy with uncooked flour, and snack instead on creamy Malpeque oysters or mild but tasty Caesar salad. You'll also save a few calories by ignoring the dry, crumbly New York cheesecake.

The food at Smith & Wollensky is great. I was extremely disappointed in how poor the service was at this establishment as it is so great at other Smith & Wollensky locations around the United States. The waiter did such a horrible job of waiting on us. I spoke with the manager and he recommended that I phone the General Manager directly. I did and left a message for him to call me back and I never heard a word from him. Because of this poor acknowledgement from the GM I have decided to NEVER eat at any Smith & Wollensky no matter the location. This type of service is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!

You won't have any beef with the steaks at this plush palace of carnivorous pleasure.  See the full editorial review.
