In Short
The small bar and series of dining rooms are a riot of vividly colorful murals, furniture, walls and floors, all painted by a half-dozen Haitian artists. Fritters made with yucca-like malanga are crisp, greaseless and mild-tasting, goosed with sweet-tart watercress sauce. Whole yellowtail poached in lime-infused broth is subtle, delicate and delicious. Stewed goat is tender and savory, like beef, but much more flavorful.

This is my first and only Haitian restaurant I've ever been to but I cant wait to go back! The food was great and the service was even better. You were treated like family here. Sometimes they have a band playing and when we were there people were having a blast.

Colorful restaurant with murals all over the place. There is a small dining area outside and different rooms inside. They have live music and helpful service. They have many vegan and vegetarian options. I got the beans and rice for $3 and the spinach in coconut sauce for $4. The portions was large and delicious.

Extremely stimulating decor meets with luscious ,savory appetizers--pumpkin soup, bullion soup and special creamy spinach. Our meals included stewed chicken in which my 9 y/o son couldn't get enough of the broth--he dipped the crusty fresh bread many times over and by the way,the chicken was "falling off the bone".My husband had the oxtail which was just as tender and in a light barbeque flavored sauce.Plantains were fried ever so lightly with no hint of greasiness .Next time we go ,we will try the fritters as recommended by a returning patron who said they're the best !!( Even the ginger tee was so unique and very refreshing. )Well worth the trip----from ANYWHERE !!!

What To Drink:
Haitian cuisine is surprisingly wine friendly. The list offers only a handful of options, the best one being the light-bodied 1999 Joseph Drouhin La Foret pinot noir ($26). Or stick with one of the many beers on tap or potent tropical cocktails.
When To Go:
Weekend evenings, it's worth a visit to check out the exceptionally talented house band, which plays jazz-tinged Haitian folk music.
