disgusting. You know the ketchup and mayo on each table? DONT USE THAT!! IS DISGUSTING!!! The waiters were cleaning the inside part of the bottles with a disgusting towel, witch they clean the tables and everything! And they did it in front of us! the ketchup and mayo seem new, but they are not! and besides that, the evening manager is so rude!

BAD. Horrible food. Nasty manager!

Go to Next Cafe on Lincoln... It's SO GOOD! Beware, the portions are huge at Next Cafe.

The food at News is so bad... My cobb came without avocado, and barely a few stips of cold pre-cooked chicken. The manager didn't do a thing about it. He was very nasty, in fact. It's overpriced, and not filling at all. We went to eat at Next Cafe right after, to fill up.

Average Food, Expensive Bill, Sore Tush!!. Very famous cafe..Gianni Versace dined here regularly.. HOW SURPRISING!! The king of fashion dined at what is simply a Diner serving Diner food at upscale restaurant prices. Service is friendly but not the most attentive. A beautiful setting with the ocean across the street is ruined by the most uncomfortable chairs ever to exist. My backside still aches!!

Good appetizers, people-watching. We stopped by News Cafe because it is famous for the people-watching on Ocean Drive. We specifically went during happy hour after researching it as "the best happy hour in SoBe" All liquor is 50% off, but happy hour only applies in the bar area not the entire restaurant, which was weird. The bar does have 3 tables on a balcony that overlook Ocean Drive, however, so we sat at one of those after ordering at the bar. The bartender was very nice and helpful. We ordered a Miller Lite, which came ice cold, and a Strawberry Mojito, which was too sweet for my liking. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip, which was fantastic. It was piping hot and fresh and a perfect chip to dip ratio. We recommend for the people-watching and happy hour, but we would not go to this place for a regular meal. The menu was expansive and not reasonably priced even for the area.

So-so breakfast food. Skip the News Cafe and head right to the Front Porch or the 11th St. Diner. I dined at 3 different places for breakfast while in SoBe and this was my least favorite. The food was mediocre (I think they used frozen breakfast potatoes-- ew) and the service was incredibly slow considering we only ordered omelets and yogurt. Our waiter was probably the least friendly server I encountered. Overall, not worth it. There are plenty of better breakfast joints around.

Found a Aphid in my salad. I am a native to Miami and spend much of my time at South Beach visiting local restaurants and just enjoying the crowd.

This morning my husband and I decided to just go take a dip in the beach and enjoy a lunch at News Cafe.

We ordered Caesar Salad and Create Your Own Pizza. Our table was located on the sidewalk and though I don't know the waitress' name I can describe her as: blond, pony tail, black visor. Not the pregnant one.

Well, we were enjoying our salad, and my husband just yells at me, "don't eat it" and started waiving to the waitress. When I looked at his plate, there was a huge aphid. (Can't write bg on this review) How grouse!!!

The waitress just came to say she was sorry and "we" had to tell her that we weren't going to pay for the salad. She didn't even offer.

Moreover, she carried on as business as usual and I had to ask her, "What happens next?" She said, "oh the manager will go into the kitchen and take care of it..."

We didn't get one person from Senior staff to apologize... much more, try swallowing your pizza after that site???

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!. How this restaurant ever got a 9.2 rating on citysearch is beyond me. We went for breakfast and not only were my eggs served cold with cold potatoes, my wife's french toast was cold as well, and the topper was the side of bacon, which wasn't so much a side of bacon, but shredded bacon that would not have been appropriate as bacon bits. All this while the table next to us sent their eggs back three times as well and the kitchen never got theirs right. No apologies from the staff and an attitude that was not helpful to say the least. THIS IS A TOURIST TRAP THAT CARES NOTHING ABOUT QUALITY BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU AREN'T COMING BACK. DO NOT EAT HERE.

The King of Ocean Drive draws even locals onto the most tourist-ridden street in the area.. In Short
There's no better place to get a taste of tanned, buffed, sweaty, touristy South Beach than News Cafe. Whether you come by foot or blade, Harley or Ferrari, make sure to snag a table on the cramped outdoor patio. The menu offers some fairly good bites, among them the Middle Eastern platter (hummus, tahini, tabbouleh, and grape leaves), made-to-order hamburgers, gigantic fruit plates and omelettes with all the fixins'.

Service Without A Smile. At least the food is ok here-not great, but at least ok. But the service is another story. Arrogant, slow, inexperienced waiters- no wonder they have to include the tip! Better to get takeout-you won't have to suffer the horrible service!
