Really disappointing.
Had dinner at Pacific Time on 12/5/09 with 3 other couples. Service was quite slow. Their menu online looked quite interesting, yet at the restaurant they had half of the items listed on the menu for dinner than were online.
When I discovered a hair on my plate, I returned my dinner for a different dish. Most decent restaurants would comp the dinner (our bill for 8 was $550.00 including 3 bottles of wine). This restaurant could care less--won't be back there again, and wouldn't advise anyone else to go. They were much better years ago on Lincoln Road
pretty bad. I have been to Pacific Time in the design district for business lunches and found it adequate but uninspiring. I took my wife for dinner. Prices were ridiculous. Lamp Chops were so full of tendons I could not swallow an mouthfull. Steak was ordinary. How can they stay in business?
Mediocre Food, Unfriendly service.
A Group of us went to this New location in the Design District based on the Fact that the old Pacafic Time on lincoln Road used to be so good,
We Were all disappointed ! The Server was unmotivated to sell & Unfriendly,
They have a good selection of Appteizers & salads, We ordered 4 apptetizers to Share between The 5 of us, They brought one Appetizer out first, then when we had finished the first appetizer they brought the second, when we finished the second appetizer we waited servel more minutes to get the other 2 we ordered. The appetizers we tasty but as we all agreed the Main course were mediocre, The steaks were over cooked & the fish dishes were tastless & the portions are very small.
I did'nt taste any pan asian flavors, over all this place is overrated & we will never go back.
nice change for off the beach. went on a recommendation on a rainy night, great atmosphere pretty busy for a soaking tuesday night out. Interesting menu not much pacific anymore but nice salads and wine list good for lunch and dinner been to both.
This sophisticated, inventive Design District restaurant fuses Asian flavors..
In Short
Though relatively large, Pacific Time's dining room is surprisingly modest and crammed with tables filled by a mix of tourists and local foodies. Executive chef/owner Jonathan Eismann brilliantly melds East with West and infuses his dishes with uncommon creativity. Chinese black beans, typically cooked with a sauce, are pureed to make a room-temperature vinaigrette that graces exquisite tempura-fried soft-shell crabs.
DIDN'T ENJOY PACIFIC TIME.
WHAT'S THE FUSS WITH THIS RESTAURANT. APPETIZERS WERE DISAPPOINTING, THE ENTREES WERE WORSE, AND DESSERT WAS INEDIBLE. DRINKS WERE BADLY EXECUTED. THE ONLY SAVING GRACE WAS THE SERVICE, BUT THAT WILL NEVER MAKE UP FOR A MEDIOCRE MEAL.
WE ORDERED STEAK, ONE MEDIUM RARE, ONE MEDIUM. THEY CAME OUT WELL. QUITE UNACCEPTABLE IN AN ESTABLISHMENT WITH SUCH REPUTATION.
LASTLY, ANOTHER HORRIBLE WINE LIST ALBARINO, WHICH COSTS $15 A BOTTLE, WAS MARKED UP TO $70!! OBSCENE!
User review by julesnyc1. I had heard only good things about this place but was very disappointed after trying it. 3 of us were honest about our meal (below average to say the least) and to their credit they removed all 3 entrees from tab. they need to remove the entree from the menu (tuna). overall I thought it highly overrated. don't think I would try it again.
good choice. good food from a broad spectrum. Solid wine list. Almost overkill service. Interesting preparations without too much sweet.
Excellent choice..... Great location to start. Pacific Time is on Lincoln Road - for those visitors, Lincoln Road is a long stretch of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. along a "road" (no cars allowed) that stretches about 3-4 blocks. PT had an excellent menu, great beer/wine list, and awesome services. The inside dining was abuzz and hopping; the outside dining was more casual and people-watching central. Service was awesome. Totally different feel, depending where you sit. Absolute recommendation.
HAPPY AT PACIFIC TIME. Food, service and ambience all combine to make this one of my favorite restauarnts I have ever been to! The Steamed Fish in the copper pot and the Sizzling Yellowtail Snapper are to die for. Tuna Tartare and the Ribs are the best I have ever had! The atmosphere is lively and fun, with people having a great time. The servers I have had, have been the most knowlegeable, courteous and efficient in South Florida. I brought my company's out of town clients (15) here for dinner and they all agreed this was the best restaurant in South Florida.
