Fashion types, moguls, and foodies alike swear by this restaurant, whose lighting would make even Linda Tripp look remotely glam. Plush banquettes and dim candle lighting convey a deliciously deco-romantic atmosphere. Unlike other hotel restaurants on South Beach, this one is free of hassle and noise and, because so, remains true to its cozy, chic image. Fashion types and generally stylish people frequent the Tiger Oak Room, and although most of them are rather svelte, they all actually do indulge in the hearty cuisine.

The Food
Grilled garlic shrimp with jalapeno lime vinaigrette over white beans, tomatoes, olives, and capers is a popular appetizer--light on calories, yet heavy on zest. Thai red-curry mussels are also excellent, with coconut milk, kafir lime leaves, and, of course, Thai red curry. Main courses are knockouts, from seared rare sesame tuna to grilled herb-crusted filet mignon.
