In Short
The who's who of local power and politics dines here; table-hopping is common. Yuca's change in ownership (original co-founder Ephraim Vega sold his share in order to open the now-defunct Maya) and a succession of chefs haven't had too adverse an affect on the menu. Points should be given for the imaginative cuisine--a crisp plantain basket filled with shrimp and conch, or a pan-seared tuna with coconut curry rice, for example.

This is the place to be on Friday nights. Eat a wonderful meal inside or outside. Enjoy all the foot traffic on Lincoln Road Mall. After dinning, take a Ruede class upstairs with a bar and great Salsa Music.

Had just arrived in South Beach and took a walk from the Gansevoort. Somehow found the Lincoln Rd Mall by chance and decided to take a chance when we saw the menu outside. It was the first time we were asked how the salmon should be prepared. Salmon?!!! Man, I was wondering how good it would be if they paid so much attention to detail. My fiance loved the salmon and I loved the Churassco..I admit I tried her salmon and it was so tender and flavorful..mmmmm..But best of all was the Margarita del Mar (served in a martini glass)..I thought it might not be enough but it was the Best margarita I have had and not watered down like any drink you pretty much find in South Beach..I ordered 2....Great Experience. Be prepared to spend approx. 150 dollars to 200 dollars for two....it was totally worth it.

We loved this restaurant. Based on past reviews from 2006 and before, we assume this restaurant is now under new management or has a new chef de cuisine. Let me first say that we ate here during Miami Spice, which is basically Restaurant Week everywhere else but lasts 2 months in Miami. The prix fixe menu is smaller portions of appetizer, entree and dessert for $36. The waiter was a little resistant to us ordering off the Miami Spice menu, which is only to be expected considering the differences in price. Once we asked for the menu a second time and were clear, he warmed up considerably. The person who complained about mineral or sparkling water must have never been to a nice restaurant before because everyone knows that's a standard "upsell" question asked by waiters. We ordered a bottle of white wine off the wine list, but they were out of it. So he recommended a bottle only $2 more that was good. The bread was a bit chewy and tough, but the herbed butter was nice. My sister got the tasajo, which was good. I got the Spanish piquillo peppers, per our waiter's recommendations, which was delicious! We both got the churrasco, which we both really enjoyed. We also both got the chocolate tres leches cake, which was very moist and yummy. Since the portions were smaller, we felt perfectly content but not stuffed at the end of the meal.
