The square, high-ceilinged room sports a sleek industrial-retro look, with pinkish Lucite-topped tables jammed together in long rows. Open until the wee hours, the scene doesn't get started until late but continues through early morning. There are the obvious standards like burgers and Caesar salads, but pizzas can be made with toppings like potatoes and goat cheese. Offerings also include funky "TV dinners," which are six small portions on a stainless steel tray.

Great diner in the South of Fifth neighborhood. Good food and a fun atmosphere. It's a little crowded inside, but it's always easy to get a table.

One block over from the Atlantic, Big Pink has a huge indoor and outdoor area. There is usually a line for week end brunch. The salads are huge and can easily serve two people. Prices are moderate with good service. They have many options for vegans and vegetarians.

This is a fun restaurant right on the edge of the main drag in South Beach. I think the location is perfect because you can people watch without being shoulder to shoulder in the crowds. The menu had typical offerings, but we were surprised at how good it actually was! The wings were great! This place gets packed so plan on having to wait. And be sure and get a seat outside so you can people watch. You can't miss it because it is the Big Pink Restaurant - literally!

What to Drink:
Only a few wines are offered, none particularly distinguished. Drink beer (there's a good selection of draft brews) or invest $20 in the simple but pleasant 2000 Hardy's chardonnay from Australia.
Save Time:
If you're a party of six or more, make reservations. Otherwise, Big Pink doesn't take them.
