In Short
The seafood-oriented menu trots all over the culinary globe, from Frenchified dishes like salmon wrapped in puff pastry (surprisingly light and quite good) to Japanese-style seared/raw tuna with ponzu sauce and stir-fried veggies. Order the oysters, especially the delicate, creamy specimens from Secour Bay in Alabama. Snapper with black bean salsa and orange sauce is solid "Floribbean" cookery that's fun to eat.

Insider Tips
What To DrinkThere aren't a lot of choices for less than $40, but a real sleeper is the 1999 William Hill chardonnay. A touch of sweet citrus, well-balanced and a relative bargain.
The ExtrasViews from the beach and boardwalk make this seafood restaurant the perfect place for people watching.
Where To SitThere's a handsome dining room with a large bar for those who want a calmer dining experience. But for a real taste of the never-a-dull-moment Ocean Drive scene, snag a table on the outdoor patio or in the heart of the crush on the sidewalk.

My wife and I were here last night and we were blown away. The service was terrific - Ricardo was very helpful with out special requests. My wife has a gluten intolerance and he checked with the chef on a number of items. He suggested a terrific white wine at a reasonable cost. The manager was also very friendly and asked how everything was going. The food was delicious. We had the scallops and chipotle shrimp to start and the redfish and mahi for dinner. All were done to perfection. Even the band was great! Highly recommended.
Pros: Great value, seafood prepared perfectly
Cons: none

Whenever I am in South Beach I eat here. Last November, my husband and I were with friends and leaving for a cruise the next morning. We had no time for much partying as we wanted to rest up for the next day but I made sure to make outdoor seating reservations for all of us at AFCA and we had a fabulous time. This was everyone else's first time in South Beach and they were impressed. The food, the wine... Bravo! Again and Again. I'll be back in February and my trip would not be complete without a visit to my favorite eatery. Great service, great food, very romantic. Loves it!
Pros: people watching and ocean front
