In Short – Co-owners Pung Nguyen and Kathy Manning create Vietnamese delicacies from a six-burner stove that barely fits in the restaurant's cramped kitchen. The wait for a table can be eternal--all food is cooked to order, so don't plan on eating here if you're in a hurry. On weekends, the wait can be three hours. But after one bite of the grilled lamb with curry sauce, you'll agree that the wait was worthwhile.

THE BEST VIETNAMESE CUISINE IN MIAMI!

by PROMEDIAEVENTS

I have eaten at the best and highly rated Asian restaurants in the country. And no doubt Hy Vong is simply the best tasting Vietnamese food I've had so far! Prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. The wait might be long but this is what dining is all about. Savoring the food and nice conversation with your closest friends. Well worth it!

A Vietnamese gem in the middle of calle ocho!

by master_confucius

This small restaurant offers some amazing Vietnamese home cooking. The only things required is patience, lots of it... The owner is the only one that takes the orders and she does it in a very calm way. She also knows a lot about wine and has some great selections that will fit a wide variety of tastes. They also have some great import beers. In regards to the food the half roasted duck and the pork on coconut milk are my favorites. You would also want to order the soup, it is simply amazing!

Waiting time is long since the service is small but its definitely worth the try.

  • Pros: Food
  • Cons: Waiting time and slow service
