What People Are Saying About Versailles Restaurant

In Short – Almost as famous as its palatial namesake in France, Versailles is an iconoclastic Cuban diner with wall-to-wall mirrors, a constant buzz of activity and a mammoth menu. If you're looking for a pre-marathon carbo load with a super-cheap heaping of arroz con pollo (chicken with yellow rice) or a meaty media noche (the Big Mac of Cuban cuisine with ham, pork and cheese), then this is the place to get it.

Editor's Tips

When to Go:
While usually very family-friendly, the wee hours will often draw a younger, rowdier crowd looking for a hearty meal after a night of South Beach club-hopping.
Know Before You Go:
Despite its late-night hours, there is no smoking allowed.

A MUST SEE

by don610

Everytime a friend from out of town we stop here. The food is fantastic, great portions, hot and fast.

The atmosphere is just right- friendly, not uptight.

Be sure to try them out. You won't be disappointed.

Shame

by jakej440

Whoever thinks that Cuban food should be greasy and mediocre is just utterly wrong. Clearly, the cooks at this restaurant seem to think it should be. I took a friend to his first introduction to Cuban cuisine and I was slapped in the face by the poor quality of the food. I've been going to this restaurant for years and it always had a great appeal, but I'm afraid those days are long gone. Somebody is definitely sitting on their laurels and riding the name of this establishment. A few points to address - The fried plantain dish has obviously shrunken over time (clearly not meant for two people) and yet, the price is just about the same, if not more. These may be hard times, but plantains are far from being pricey. Their moros rice had to be the saltiest version I have ever tried. Unfortunately, water refills were lacking throughout the evening! Sad to say, but this is one Cuban that may not be returning for quite a long while.

Pleasant Dinner

While vacationing in Miami my friends and I got with several of our taxi drivers and told them we wanted to experience authentic Cuban food.. Everyone recommended Versailles to be the happening place for us to par take in. We were very pleased with the atmosphere eventhough we do not speak Spanish fluently it was an amazing atmosphere and the price was exceptional!!! We are already planning our next trip to Miami just for the visit to Versailles!!!!

Angry-Vehicle Broken Into

by review999

The food is good, but my locked vehicle was broken into with 2 Versailles parking attendants standing watch. This was at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon!! I spoke to management (Raul Alonso) and he couldn't care less. He told me Miami is a dangerous place and that I would have to sue them. Didn't even have the decency to offer to pay for my lunch! None of the Versailles parking signs say anything about "Park at your own risk." I'll never go there again. Try Havana Miami Restaurant on Miller Drive. Much nicer environment and better food.

  • Pros: Good food
  • Cons: Watch your car
