Place sucks....go somewhere else for Cuban food. Went to thte Pembroke PInes location and they force yout o order the buffet from the dining room on the weekends. If you dare order something else, they overcharge you for it and then threaten to charge you the full buffet if you even take a bite out of a left-over pastry. I'm still speechless. Don't go to any of these places....from what I see on the internet, they all suck and have terrible management.

La Carreta is an Anti-American Restaurant. When I attempted to make a reservation at this restaurant the person on the phone says, "NO ENGLISH! SPANISH!" and when i said, "I'm sorry I don't speak Spanish," the guy hung up on me!

Seriously?!

I do believe Miami is still part of the U.S.A and English speaking customers should not be treated like dirt because they don't speak spanish .... I'm thoroughly disgusted by this place.

If you want only spanish speaking customers you should move your restaurant to cuba... just saying...

Nothing Great. I've been to La Carreta since I was a kid with my parents and I loved it. Now as an adult with my own family, I really don't recommend it as a 5-star restaurant but as maybe a luncheon type of place. Even then, there are better places. The parking lot is a mission to get into. The place is always crowded and the hosts and waitress are not all that friendly and accommodating to its clients. One day, I found a long hair in my beans, and since then have not dined there again. I was so digusted by the place, and its "lack of" cleaniness my family and I will never go back there.

Worst Service Ever. I went for dinner there last night and let me just say that the service in this restaurant is terrible. I handed my waitress a hundred dollar bill in order to pay my check. She ended up either stealing the money herself or losing it somewhere and was not able to find the hundred dollars. Instead of just admitting her mistake, she unjustly accused another couple, who also paid their check with a hundred dollar bill, of finding the bill on floor and trying to pay their check with it. They were innocent because this couple was even kind enough to show me that they had several hundred dollar bills in their wallets. However, this did not stop this rude and careless waitress from accusing them in front of other patrons. I will never eat here again. I'm sure the other couple won't either. The food is really not worth putting up with this waitress' rude, careless, and insensitive behavior. There are so may other better cuban restaurants in Miami. Trust me do not waste your time or money at La Carreta on 8th st.

Cuban classics at reasonable prices keep the locals coming to this round-the-clock hub of comfort food and potent coffee.. In Short
You'll find several generations of Cuban Americans in abundance at this makeshift farmhouse. The island's signature staples are all on the menu, served up quickly and surprisingly cheap. From arroz con pollo (yellow rice and chicken) to ropa vieja (shredded beef), the offerings are usually tropically seasoned without ever bordering on spicy. If you've saved room for dessert, the rotating display case tempts with flan (egg custard) and arroz con leche (rice pudding).

Only as a last resort. La Carreta is open late and the service is pretty fast, but that's about it. The food isn't so good. The vaca frita is very greasy. Versailles has better food and even better ambiance.

The ladies' restroom is a claustrophobia-inducing nightmare.

La Carreta Restaurant, nice place, excelent food.. I deserve the latin food, and cuban cuisine is one of my favorites. I really found in La Carreta Restaurant a nice latin place with delicious plates and desserts, that I enjoy with my family every time we use to take food out of our home.
