HORRIBLE PLACE FOR HUMANBEING. THIS PLACE IS THE WORST IS HORRIBLE THE MANAGER FRANSICO HE DISRESPECTED ME AND MY FAMILY AND BOMBARDED ME WITH INSULTS!
Sit in the back patio on a warm summer night. If you're looking for that romantic coffee shop feel, Cafe Demetrio is your place. The atmosphere has that quaint charm, with dark wooden chairs inside and the outdoor patio is gorgeous, with lush landscaping, twinkling lights and small cafe tables. The food is also great, which for a coffee shop is a nice suprise. We recommend the hummus plate. But, as you would expect, the coffees and desserts are the stars of the menu. Anything in the dessert case is great, from the apple strudel to the napoleon to the tiramisu. Coffees are flavorful, but not burned tasting. Plus, they have soy milk.
This is the coffeehouse for informal meetings and cozy chat sessions..
In Short
Make sure to grab some homemade ice cream as you sit down for a game of chess (sets provided by Demetrio), a glimpse of the paper, some live music in their piano salon, or a gossip session with your girlfriends on the outside patio. The salads are great, too, as are the specialty sandwiches and rich desserts. Whatever your plans, meeting here always makes things a little more pleasant.
European atmosphere. A little bit of Europe in Coral Gables: elegant, joyful, beautiful outdoors, main room with the exact lightning for each time of day or night and the quiet, confidential tables, perfect for a personal or business meeting.
Quaint..
Cafe Demetrio is the kind of place Miami needs more of. Casual sit-down cafes with great coffee and baked goods.
I had an improvised brie and tomato sandwich and it was delicious.
The women who work here are always so pleasant and friendly and really tie the place together.
