THEY TURN OFF THE GRILL AT 9:30 PM?.
I HOPE THE MANAGER READS THIS. The website says they close at 10:30 pm on Sundays. Why would they turn the grill off an HOUR before? Times are tough. I know people want to go home at the end of
the night, but can any place really afford to lose TWO orders? Not to mention us thinking twice about heading in here on some other Sunday . . .
-- disappointed locals. :(…
Service.. Service.... We went for breakfast and the attention was great.... the waiter his name is Rafael, he is great he really tells you how you can have a good breakfast!! very attentive.... Great Service..... If you go to Gables Diner ask for Rafael.... Thanks Food was GOOD.…
Over-priced with poor service. This restaurant has gone downhill! The prices have sky-rocketed while the portions remain the same. The fries were served cold, and the food was not exceptional. Furthermore, the waitstaff is terrible! Our waiter failed to bring the correct side to our meal, and never checked in with us to see how we liked our food or if we wanted a drink refill. To add insult to injury, after charging an exorbitant amount for the meal, our waiter then proceeded to throw out our food after we specifically requested him to box the remainder to go. We will never return here, and I don't recommend that you eat at the Gable's Diner either!…
It's not a conventional diner, but this Downtown Gables institution will have you feeling like you're at home..
In Short
More Gables than Diner, this restaurant owes more to its tony surroundings than the greasy spoon imagery that its moniker may suggest. You won't find lobster ravioli, filet mignon,
or shrimp quesadillas at a truck stop, that's for sure. The catch, of course, is that you can still order a plate of meatloaf or a sloppy Joe sandwich. Loaded with area workers by day and local families by night, it's a perfect portrait of Downtown Gables living. Whether you opt for the diner-like apple pie a la mode dessert or prefer a more haute cuisine closer like the pyramid-shaped Noisette with chocolate Ganache and hazelnut mousse, its all ultimately comfort food.…
Holy Hamburgers, Sllopy Joe's, All American breakfast .....
This spacious Gables Diner isn't really a diner as one may imagine. If that is what you think you better be prepared for a surprise. This restaurant has all the features of a excelent old style
dining room , this one serves breakfast as well as lunch and dinner, but it does not close in between. They whip up down-home food like Chicken Marsala and Meatloaf.
They brag about their breakfasts - old-fashioned oatmeal with fresh fruit side, real home fries, flapjacks, eggs and sausages. You have to pay for nostalgia: The whole shebang may run as high as US$10 to $12, but after breakfast you won't have to eat for the rest of the day. This casual, family-oriented restaurant combines traditional diner fare with health-oriented cuisine. The variety of entrees, from breakfast foods to hamburgers to hearty salads, makes this a great choice for groups of people with varying tastes. All items are made with fresh ingredients and are reminiscent of home cooking. Clean and upscale, the restaurant provides a comfortable and casual environment for both single diners and families. Service is friendly and efficient, sometimes very busy they can't provide the best atention.…
