In Short – Ortanique's dining room is a riot of tropical style. Brightly upholstered banquettes on either side of the main dining room are screened off by gauzy curtains. Cuban tile adorns the floor; vivid designs are splashed on the walls and support columns. Chef Cindy Hutson's menu includes curried crab cakes with tangy papaya-lime coulis and swordfish with gratin of boniato and foie gras. Roasted banana cheesecake and Tortuga rum cake are luscious desserts.

This is the most exquisite food I've ever had and I've been to many places over the years and considering I'm from France, this place is such a special place and decor will enchant anyone. I was also very very impressed by the service, waiters are very well trained with excellent manners uncommon in Miami...sorry for those Miamian! Now, food wise -everything on that menu is just FANTASTIC and just delightful and dessert is a MUST> Kudos to Chef Cindy Hutson!!!

It's not only about the good mojitos in town that he makes.....it's just because of the way he treats customers!

Thanks for the GREAT expericnce sitting with you at the bar and chewing the fat last Tuesday. We had a great dinner and the drinks were outstanding! We went to the Marlins game but wished we had stayed for one more round with you guys
I am going to try making the next generation margarita this Wednesday for a dinner party we are having. I hope I can get some good limes here in Chicago.

Where to Sit:
If you want to be in the center of the action, sit in the main dining room. If you're looking for a little privacy, there are banquettes on curtained risers.
What to Drink:
The wine list is long, comprehensive, fairly priced and strong in California chardonnays and cabernets.
When to Go:
A live jazz ensemble entertains diners on Sunday nights.
Save Money:
Drink specials are available during the week, with half-priced mojitos on Monday and select wine bottles on Tuesday. Martini specials are served up during Happy Hour on Friday.
Look Good:
Are you a champagne sipper? Head on over on Thursdays, when champagne tasting sessions take place from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
