Best Restaurant on Miracle Mile!. This restaurant is outstanding! I have been there many times and love it so much, that I decided to write a review on it. I love going on Tuesdays and Fridays and sitting at the bar. The food is outstanding and there is nothing better than to get a server like Joel to know every detail of what the food is all about. He also knows a lot about the wines and it is a true pleasure to enjoy the best food and wine selection in town with someone as knowledgeable as him. Chef Cindy is amazing and it is a true wonder how she seems to create food as delicious as she does year after year! Definitely my favorite restaurant on Miracle Mile. PROS: EVERYTHING! Advice: Sit with a server that makes your experience a wonderful time, and you will forget all your worries and enjoy great food, wine and great drinks! CONS: Parking, food can get pricey, and the bartenders on Saturday night. I definitely will wait until Joel is in the house!
Love love love this place!. i love everything about the place but Joel makes the experience complete. The man is a genius at concocting on the spot drinks. He made me a drink he now refers to as "the passion pill"... AMAZING!!!! He's on every detail. Nice to go somewhere where everyone is so friendly and anticipates what you want before you order it. Food is always amazing. Cindy is a genius. I pressive wine list and great wine tasting events! A must!!
GREAT FOOD BUT NOT SO GREAT SERVICE. I went to Ortanique on the Mile to celebrate my anniversary with my significant other. The restaurant has beautiful decor and I was looking forward to experiencing great food and a great time. We enjoyed the food immensely. It is one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced. However, unfortunately the service was not great. We had a waitress, we believe her name was Juanita. She was disconnected and you can tell that she was not interested in being there. When I asked her questions regarding a certain dish, I can almost swear that she rolled up her eyes. It is a true shame, because beside the bad service, we were very satisfied with the food we ate. This restaurant is known in the Gables to be one of the best restaurants in town. We drove down all the way from Aventura, but we will never come back again to be treated with such rudeness.
OUTSTANDING DINING PLACE. This is the most exquisite food I've ever had and I've been to many places over the years and considering I'm from France, this place is such a special place and decor will enchant anyone. I was also very very impressed by the service, waiters are very well trained with excellent manners uncommon in Miami...sorry for those Miamian! Now, food wise -everything on that menu is just FANTASTIC and just delightful and dessert is a MUST> Kudos to Chef Cindy Hutson!!!
BEST BARTENDER EVER!!! JOEL.

It's not only about the good mojitos in town that he makes.....it's just because of the way he treats customers!

Foodgasm - an O for your taste buds. After 3 visits I think I can safely say this is some of the best food in Miami. The food is amazing and the service is perfect. Plan to wait at the bar even with reservations and for a romantic time ask to be seated in the booth area. They have a great wine list and the people are very knowledgeable.
creative delicious food, fun atmosphere. Went here when we were on vacation last week. It was reccomended by a family member who had been there before. I have to say, the food was absolutely delicious. I'm a seafood lover, and tend to be very picky, and each course i had had was to die for. The scallops and shrimp entree was so good I wanted to pick up my plate and lick it. The owner/chef came over to our table and said hello. she was very friendly and fun. The decor was funky with a carribean feel. I drank wine, but my friends were having mojitos and raving about them. Next time I come back to Miami I will definately be back here.
"Coral Gables Best Bartender", Bar none !!. This was our second night in a row. We were going out of town and we had a blast with Joel at the bar. He basiclly told us what we were going to have and that we would love it. He wasn't pushy he asked what we typically liked. He told us about the history of the place and talked about the owners/chef (Cindy Hudson & Shirley). He was by himself and was very busy, so the info was given in pieces. Apparentlly everyone at the bar must have been there before cause everyone seem to know Joel by name. It was crazy but just the fun atmosphere that we didn't know we were in the mood for. I'm gald the hostess told us to go to the bar and wait for our table cause then I would'nt be telling everyone about this. This restaurant, though tightly spaced and a little loud was very cool and makes you feel warm and cozy. The food was every bit as good as Joel said and infinitly more. Do yourself a favor and come to Ortanique, call ahead make sure that Joel is at the bar cause he told us that he only works on certain nights , (don't remember which one's). Ortanique is a little pricey, but that's the last thing you will be thinking about right after you have one of Joel's cocktails, and some of the best food I've ever eaten anywhere(sorry mom) !! By the way we had these rum drinks Joel told us were made with 25 year old rum, and champange, and mint and lime (I know sounds weird but oh my god ! Though we didn't have any wine that night, Joel told us that he had an award winning wine list and Tues. is half price wine. We had the Lamb chops, Boullabase (yes I know I spelled it wrong). We had the Banana fritters, and the rum cake. I'm tired of writing - just go and see Joel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
