Editorial Review for La Dorada – by Victoria Pesce Elliott
The Scene
This Spanish seafood house is decked out as a turn of the century ocean liner with shiny brass fixtures, portholes, and wooden accents. The service is almost exclusively in Spanish; if you're not fluent, bring a translator or engage the services of the accommodating manager.
The Food
The menu is not extensive but does offer some unusual and worthwhile choices, such as marinated shark, fresh anchovies and many excellent fried fish selections. The house specialty, pescado a la sal, is a whole fish baked in a mound of salt then filleted tableside. The zarzuela is also good, with shrimp, mussels, lobster, fish, squid and clams in a creamy, tomato based sauce. Portions are small; consider ordering a few appetizers first. There is a fine gazpacho and several hearty salads. Desserts include a rich and delicious caramelized apple tart served with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with honey.

In my opinion Great seafood, lousy service. They tried to push on us high price wines(recommendations of the day!!) even though they would not match the dinner selection. If you go watch for this. we would not go back!!
Pros: Great seafood
Cons: Recommended wines are very expensive
