North Indian Cuisine at its Best

  • Full Bar-Beer-Wines
  • Brunch-Lunch-Dinner-Happy Hour
  • Private Party Room

The House of India located in the heart of Coral Gables, captures the fascination of the mysterious East. Dine like a MahaRaja, with a menu of exotic specialties Beef, Chicken, Lamb snd Seafood mixed with herbs and spices, saffron rice and distinctive curries. This is truly the most authentic Indian cuisine experience in the entire Southeastern Florida. Our 30 year reputation is our best reference. Winner of Reader's Choice Award (South Florida Magazine); Top Ten Restaurants (Miami Herald); Best Indian Restaurant 2000-2003-2005 (New Times); Best Indian Restaurant 2006 (Miami Sun Post).

Editorial Review for House of India – by Victoria Pesce Elliott

The Scene
The space is huge, with seating for over 100 in three separate dining rooms and a catering hall. Therefore, it's never too crowded; nonetheless, service is usually slow.

The Food
Office workers in the area rave about the super cheap lunch buffet where $6.95 (or $7.95 on the weekends) buys you more than a dozen dishes including chicken tandoori, curry chicken, mutton curry, two vegetables, dahl, nan, vegetable samosa, meat samosa, salads and a custard dessert. For a few more dollars, dinner is also worthwhile, with a full menu of Northern specialties such as biryani (a sauteed rice dish with a choice of meats and veggies) and chicken tandoori. In addition to several Indian beers, there's a full liquor bar.

FOR ANYONE WHO SAYS HOUSE OF INDIA ISN'T GOOD, STOP THE JEALOUSY. THIS RESTAURANT IS REASONABLY PRICED, NEW AND ATTENTIVE STAFF WHO DON'T EVEN LET YOUR GLASS GET 1/2 EMPTY, AND THE FOOD IS JUST AWESOME AS IT HAS BEEN FOR 35 YEARS. SO FOR THE JEALOUS IDIOTS WHO HAVE BAD THINGS TO SAY, GET A LIFE AND PLEASE DON'T GO OUT TO EAT ANY WHERE. MAYBE MCDONALDS. HOUSE OF INDIA MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT TO STAY IN BUSINESS FOR 35 YEARS. ANY FOLKS THIS PLACE IS A GEM. TRY IS FOR YOURSELF AS THE MAYOR OF MIAMI AND MIAMI DADE FREQUENT HERE. AS WELL AS OTHER FAMOUS CELEBS. ILL BE GOING AGAIN AGAIN AS I HAVE FOR YOURS. AND FOR THE CHEAPSKATES WHO WRITE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT HARD WORKING PEOPLE, TRY FAST FOOD!

The worst service ever! SLOW does not even cover it. If you like to eat and drink of dirty dishes with food still on the glassware and plates, then this is the place for you. They ran out of rice when we ate there, and decided to completely ignore us instead of telling us. They served food with no rice, and ran. We had to go find our server who told us they had no rice. The restaurant if very dirty. The back dumpster is filthy, full of grease and rodents. The dumpster is visible from parking lot. The management is very rude too. Very defensive, instead of being helpful and problem solving. DON'T GO HERE!
