Cafe Abbracci is a Coral Gables landmark, flagship of our downtown restaurants. Like all popular spots, it can get a bit noisy on weekends and holidays. We've always enjoyed the food and owner NIno Pernetti is the penultimate host!
I will say that I agree about the noise. I don't know exactly why but I couldn't talk to the person next to me. The food was really good though, but i probable wont go back due to the noise.
Perfect. This is without question one of the best restaurants in Miami and definitely the best Italian. The food is amazing, the menu is full of light Italian, the whole thing isn't carbs and oil. The food is very fresh and refreshing (The salads are all fantastic and the tuna is to die for.). The service makes you feel like family and the ambience is charming and romantic. Overall it is just a perfect dining experience.
This stylish trattoria serves locals fine Italian cuisine..
In Short
Elegant yet informal, Abbracci is a study in warm colors and dark wood. Dishes reflect the simplicity, freshness and balance of authentic Italian cuisine. The mild flavor of lightly breaded and fried mozzarella is complemented by an earthy porcini mushroom-caper sauce, while soft-shell crab is greaseless and crisp. Slightly gummy gnocchi has a deeply flavorful Bolognese sauce. The "sauce" for a thin-pounded grilled veal chop is a tasty confetti of marinated tomato, radicchio and arugula.
excellent Italian. an excellent restaurant, a little off the path. We had mussels, escargot, pounded veal, tuna, white clams sauce pasta, profiteroles and zabiyone. The only weak thing, and only a tiny bit, was the zabiyone. Great service, never over board. Not excessively loud, and it was packed.
Excellent food.
The dining room felt a little dated and smelled a bit musty when we came in. It was dark and formal without (to my taste) seeming very elegant, which isn't the best combination. The ladies room, by the way, was a surprising change in that it was bright and apparently newly (and rather adorably) decorated.
The service and the food, however, were both impeccable. True, we were there on a quiet Tuesday night and the restuarant was only half full, but we received prompt, attentive service from everyone. And the food was absolutely delicious -- the orrechiette bolgnese with caramelized onions was out of this world! It seems that pasta is what this place does best, so go when you are looking for a carb fix (you can start with the hot rolls they serve when you sit down).
In one word: AWFUL. If you like noise to the point that your head will split, small portions of food with commensurate high prices ($2.50 for a REFILL of coke?), then this is the place for you! I have NEVER been so horribly uncomfortable at any restaurant EVER. It was so loud that we couldn't talk to the person sitting next to us without virtually screaming. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. NEVER AGAIN.
Too much to expect. It was first time and I had to wait longer than the regulars. I was eating on a small table next to the bar and the people waiting were practically talking next to me. I didn't enjoy the place at all.
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The service is exceptional (probably one of the best in Miami), the food excellent and the setting is ideal for either a romantic night or a party setting with friends. The wine list is very simple, but to the point. Various prices from various regions. The desert was to die for...a chocolate mousse with strawberries, and pear sauce.....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!!!!!!!
Cute, Cozy & Very Cool. Definetly worth the time to experience Abbracci. Loud at the bar and romantic at the table... the best of all worlds meet in the City Beautiful.
