Editorial Review for Caffe Abbracci – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Elegant yet informal, Abbracci is a study in warm colors and dark wood. Dishes reflect the simplicity, freshness and balance of authentic Italian cuisine. The mild flavor of lightly breaded and fried mozzarella is complemented by an earthy porcini mushroom-caper sauce, while soft-shell crab is greaseless and crisp. Slightly gummy gnocchi has a deeply flavorful Bolognese sauce. The "sauce" for a thin-pounded grilled veal chop is a tasty confetti of marinated tomato, radicchio and arugula.

Insider Tips

What To Drink

The wine list is split between Italian and other wines and is strong in the $30 to $50 range. A good value is the 1998 Castello Banfi Rosso di Montalcino ($45), rich and full with intriguing hints of plums and anise.

Where To Sit

If you're a party of four, ask for the table in a small alcove on the upper-left side of the dining room. You get a view and privacy.

The Extras

After dinner, Caffe Abbracci sometimes hosts a sizzling night of dancing, usually flamenco or salsa.

This is without question one of the best restaurants in Miami and definitely the best Italian. The food is amazing, the menu is full of light Italian, the whole thing isn't carbs and oil. The food is very fresh and refreshing (The salads are all fantastic and the tuna is to die for.). The service makes you feel like family and the ambience is charming and romantic. Overall it is just a perfect dining experience.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Cost is moderately high, but very worth it

an excellent restaurant, a little off the path. We had mussels, escargot, pounded veal, tuna, white clams sauce pasta, profiteroles and zabiyone. The only weak thing, and only a tiny bit, was the zabiyone. Great service, never over board. Not excessively loud, and it was packed.

Pros: everything

Cons: a little expensive
