Even though the Gables is precariously close to the cultural void of Kendall, it has many exciting places to feed the brain. This is oneof them. Although it is part of a chain, this location is unique. They have a HUGE selection of regularly priced books, along with an INCREDIBLE selection of sales books. Many of the reduced priced books are exceptional values. The store s very comfortable and even sells coffee and tea, if you like to read and drink. They also schedule readings and meet the authors. Good deal!
Pros: selection, sales, comfort
Cons: reg. prices are too $

Bring a friend, come alone--just plan to spend a nice quiet evening among some teriffic books. You can coza up with interesting books from any genre. If you want some hot coffee or tea, it's right up front. The sales are to die for. Killer books for $5.95. Beautiful picture books, magic, self-improvement. You name it-it's there. Big Plus-no screaming kids like at the mall--just peace and quiet. It's really a great night out and very cheap too!
Pros: huge selection, great sales, cozy eading areas
