In Short – Relaxation seekers are greeted at the door by an Aveda retail shop and gold-stained concrete floors that lead to seven hair stations and earth-toned nail and treatment rooms. Bustling weekends see couples indulging in hour-long massages or bride-and-groom packages that include therapeutic facials, massages and pedicures. Walk-ins have the best chance during the week, when it's mostly out-of-towners enjoying mud wraps and hair coloring services.

I went to Alexander who works on Sunday's and Monday's this idiot destroyed perfectly healthy hair. Beware he talks a big game and does not deliver! Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing, fun haircut. Thanks Danny!

My teenager and I love getting our hair cut at this Salon. The location is awesome, and the staff are very professional and friendly. Thanks to Danny for always giving us both fantastic haircuts, regardless of the length or style - and we have had many styles over the years!! He does a great job on my highlights too - they come out looking really natural, and I am extremely picky about highlights!
Horrible Experience! Regrettable Decision!

Horrible experience!! I decided to have a high end salon trim my hair the week of my wedding so that I would look my best for guests and pictures on the special day. I chose ARUJ in Coconut Grove, FL and couldn't be more upset by the haircut provided by Danny. My haircut at the time was only a week old, so an easy trim to tighten up was all that was needed. Instead, I left the salon with more than 2/3 of my already short hair cut off. Additionally, the fade was impressively poor with clearly visible lines and a near bald patch following an accidental stroke. Danny was completely unprepared and seemingly incapable of cutting men's hair. The majority of the hour long trim was spent trying to locate clipper guards until ill-fitting guards were finally used.
Thankfully, a stylist at the salon heard about my issue and assisted me in making my hair cut look like I didn't cut it myself in the dark. She was especially courteous and understanding and was clearly shocked by the poor job done by Danny two days earlier. Albeit short with a still noticeable patch on the top left side of my head, she did a tremendous job attempting to fix Danny's mistake.
Couldn't be happier (and Danny is Back!)

Anyone that knows Aruj Salon knows it was the first AVEDA salon in the area from a long time ago. Danny Aruj is back there now! I was so happy to learn that! He started it back then. Danny is the best with color--i can't be happier and his cuts are just how I like it. Now that he is in the hood, can't wait to go back there. And for those of you reading this that don't know the place, seriously their SPA is worth checking out. It's attached to the salon and is a slice of class and tranquility in the middle of the bustling Grove. Enjoy your day. I was so pleased Danny was back and so happy with my last color/cut I had to sign on to tell the world! :)
You deserve the best... so go to Aruj

Leave the stress of going to a new salon behind and sit back, relax, and a few hours later you're a new person.
I hate trying a new place because as bad as my hair is when I walk in, I know enough to know that the devil you know if better that the devil you don't.
Plenty of places have offered me a cure to my unruly curls and at home color disasters (grey hairs included) only to rob me of time, patience, and money with bad service and even worse results.
Danny was my stylist at Aruj and he was fabulous. He listened to my concerns, evaluated my hair for what it is and what I wanted it to be, and took the time to ask probing questions about what I was trying to achieve, showing me that he was truly vested in giving me the results I wanted.
Finally I have a cut that gives me bounce, body, and manageability to a head of crazy curls. I find my hair is so much healthier since he trimmed off the dead parts when giving me layers... which by the way compliment my head shape and hair texture. I get compliments on the color all the time.
But here's the kicker... the whole staff... from the moment I set the appointment to the moment I let the door close behind me was SO NICE... not pretentious and snobby like some "fancy" places can be. Yet... no luxury was spared in providing a great experience.
It wasn't "cheap", but I'm used to paying upwards of $150 when I go to a salon anyways because there's always so much to fix. I got a cut, color correction, and full color. It took 3 hours to get it right. So the tab was more than worth it. You can't get cheap and quality in the same sentence as the word service. It just leads to trouble.
So hands down... an awesome place and I can't wait to try more services from their spa department.
