entertainment > food. For a Friday night, we were still able to snag a table near the water and get reasonable service. Our first dinner there, so maybe we didn't order the right thing . . . our food was just okay. But then again, you're not going for the food.

Good atmosphere, live music, water views, relaxed, local . . . give it a try.

great view, food good, service not to good. What I love about this place is the view. It's a great place to sit outside in the summer and drink. The prices on the menu were reasonable. I ordered a dolphin caesar salad. Mind you it was my first time ever trying dolphin and since this was not a five start restaurant I was skeptical at first. Let me tell you it was really good! Highly recommend at this place. The worst part was the service. The waitress sucked. Never came by for refills and even waving her down she would still walk by.

great brezzy view horrible prepared food. I have been to Scottys 10 times.. I havent been there in 3 years and I invited a friend.. what a wonderful breezy view on a hot day.. you can sit there all day and drink if you wish..

The food and service was a disaster.. the shrimp appetizer was forgotten when ordered.. and then we it arrived it looked like two week old bait.. and the cocktail sauce literally had sat out for two weeks too.. horrid.. never seen anything so pathetic.. my guest threw up in his car afterward (no joke). The fish sandwich was undercooked.. the salad was OK.. The waitress even admitted that she has seen this poor performance before which was scary.

Don't go here unless you are interested in getting sick in your car afterward. :)

And if you do go.. just find the chart house and drive back to what looks and taste like the bait shop.

stone crab tutorial. For starters, "stone crabs" are ONLY the claws of the crab. It is illegal to catch a whole stone crab let alone serve it. Only the claws are harvested. Secondly, stone crabs are ALWAYS served cold. They are steamed immediately after being harvested and then chilled. I LOVE Scotty's but to each his own. Maybe if you knew what you were ordering you'd have been less disappointed.

Horrible Experience. First of all, it took us almost an hour to find because of where it is; I went to this place with a friend who wanted to take me out for my birthday... to go to this place was the worst idea ever. It took 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table and once they came back with our drinks, they tasted like sea water. Once our meals came out my so called ?stone crabs? (stone claws) were very cold; almost like they were in the freezer and my Caesar salad had no salad dressing (why call it a caesar salad without the caesar). My friend?s Philly cheese steak (more like Miami cheese steak) was horrible and he didn?t even eat it; he took one bite and was completely turned off by it. Basically; do not go to this restaurant. Bad service, bad lighting, no live performance, etc, etc. Save yourself the time, the energy, and the money.

Relax ansd enjoy the view. Great atmosphere and view. Unfortunately, one of the last affected establishments, so you really feel like you are in Florida USA!! Hard to go wrong here, great fish selections, cheeseburgers, sandwiches - and if Alison is behind the bar, try one of her terrific mojitos. Yes, service is slow, but that's what the mojito is for...

BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN MIAMI. I was there on Saturday and all I can say is that it was awesome, good food, kool waitress, and awesome view.

I got there around 5:00pm, and didn't leave till 9:30.

I would highly recommend this place for someone who is visiting Miami, it's very layed back. No need to get decked out like the rest of Restaurants in Miami, just show up in your swimsuit and flip flops an your fine.

I will be going back for sure next weekend.

PS: Please lets continue to keep this place a top secret, don't tell your friends about...

I don't like it...I love it.. It is old Miami. Often has a small live band. Dogs are allowed. I only get the dolphin sandwich as the dolphin is fresh and delicious. Its really a beer and fresh fish sandwich place with real tropical amience.

New Chef is Terrible. We have been dining at Scotty's for years now, and decided to go for a meal just after new years, January 4th.

We ordered She Crab Soup & The Clam Chowder for starters, & Shrimp & Chips & BBQ Pork w/ Coleslaw for the main. The She Crab soup which is usually delicate and delicious, was watery and the chef used IMITATION CRAB instead of the usual she-crab. The Shrimp used was from FROZEN, which is shocking considering the restaurant was right on the water. The BBQ was watery and burnt, and the coleslaw was basically mayonnaise. We were completely shocked, as Scottys has always used fresh seafood and ingredients. Apart from the Clam Chowder, the quality of ingredients was appalling.

We told the waitress, and she explained to us that a lot of people had been complaining about the quality since someone new has taken over the Kitchen recently. She was very apologetic and comped our meal.

Cutting corners with the quality of ingredients saves a restaurant money in the short run, but when loyal customers stop returning, that is when the business begins to suffer.

If we do go back, it will only be to enjoy drinks by the water. We won't be eating anything off the menu.

Truly Miami on the water.. We just enjoyed our first visit to Scotty's, with another couple, the first week in December. It was a sit anywhere, ultra casual place with plastic tables and chairs, paper napkins, etc. Our cup of tea. We snagged a table at the very front overlooking the Bay and watched a few boats pass by just yards away. The weather was perfect and it was gorgeous. The waiter was pleasant, attentive, speedy and got all of our orders just right. We had assorted beers and cheeseburgers with fries. The burgers were good and the fries were so-so. There were a couple of very well-behaved dogs who had taken their people to lunch. Very cute. We loved the place and are taking our northern guests to lunch at Scotty's this weekend.
