What People Are Saying About Cafe Tu Tu Tango

In Short – Tu Tu Tango describes its brand of restaurant as "a Spanish artist's loft." The "Spanish artist" part means lots of paintings by local artists (all for sale), stacks of plates on the tables, utensils in paint-brush vases and paper place mats that double as glossaries of art and food terms. The menu has about 45 selections of appetizer portions similar to tapas--the idea is to pick a few and share with your tablemates.
An Absolutely Miserable Experience
by IguanaDon
No water offered or brought to the table. Food came out before drinks. Fifteen minutes after drink order we were told that the bar couldn't make mojitos (they were out of mint). We ordered the antipasto to start. Canned artichoke. Canned roasted peppers. Bad olives. More bad olives made into a bad tapenade. Poor excuse for prosciutto was more like Piggly Wiggly deli meat. Sliced cheese was bad too. We sent it back to the kitchen but not before we had the server protest that it was all made in-house.
Stay at home. Buy some Winn-Dixie pre-prepared foods. And save yourself from some bad food and worse service.
- Pros: The tango dancers were good.
- Cons: The whole experience was a complete failure by everyone but the hostess.
Great restaurant experience!

We LOVE this place!! My wife and I come to TANGO everytime we visit friends in Coconut Grove. Last Friday night we went to Cafe TU TU TANGO after seeing a movie and were pleasantly surprised to see that they had redone the dining room with new colors, new boothes but we love sitting outside to people watch. We were also surprised to see a new menu, our server, Marta was fantastic and suggested a few of her favorites and we still had our favorites, the Tuna Sashim and beef skewers but the favorite of the night was the chopped Chicken Salad and a wonderful warm chocolate souffle cake. Of course, our guests all enjoyed the Brasilian dancers and the balloon guy working the room...all in all just a great night! Hope they open in Broward or Aventura soon.
- Pros: Fun atmosphere, lots of action, great food and service
- Cons: Too far from us!
A sad, downhill slide

We had not been to Tu Tu Tango for 2 years and were shocked to see the place in terrible disrepair and almost empty on a Sunday afternoon. The food was still good and had not changed and the service was good but it should have been considering there were 12 other customers. The booths were falling apart as were the chairs. Also the place was not terribly clean and the ladies room had much to be desired. I doubt that we'll ever return as there are better choices in the Grove.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Ambience and cleanliness
