In Short – There's no jetlag, currency exchange kiosks, or fumbling of translations as you step into this charming French café. Like any respectable establishment in continental Europe, the kitchen doesn't take any of the dayparts off. Early risers will find croissant breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and strawberry waffles available. Then the entrees take a heartier turn, starring items like grilled lamb chops and mussels in a creamy white wine sauce. All of the French classics like crepes, French onion soup, escargot, and Crème Brulee are on the menu too, of course.

Horrible Sunday Breakfast Experience

by lemlup11 at Citysearch

I made the mistake of going to this french bakery with my wife on a sunday morning. While we realized the menu prices are somewhat expensive (i.e. Bagel $6.50, Eggs Benedict approx. $18.00), we still decided eat here.

I've had the "double" breakfast plate (two eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon, sausage and my wife had the norwegian breakfast plate(smoked salmon, bagel, cream cheese). The toast was made from the previous day's leftover baguette, potatoes were greasy and runny and obvious that it wasn't their first time in the skillet or the microwave. 'The color and the taste of the smoked salmon felt like it was bought from a wholesale dollar deli, and the cream cheese came in a pre-packaged small container (acme brand:)) The bagel was not fresh , razor-thin slice of tomatoe was overripe. With two apple juices and 18% automatically-added gratuity the bill was $47.00.

I was so bothered with the aftertaste in my mouth that I had to rinse my mouth a glass of water and spt it into the plant holder next to me.

With the quality of the food or the lack thereof combined with ridiculous prices, Le Moulin Du Grove should be paying their customers to taste their food- not the other way around.

worst restaurant i've ever been to

by jbr23 at Citysearch

I wandered into this restaurant looking for a good french meal. What was served to me could hardly be considered edible. I got mussels in a white wine sauce and my mom got the shrimp. My meal had a strange aftertaste, so I dipped the bread into the dishof mussels to see if I could figure out what it was - pure alcohol. It tasted like a few shots of vodka were poured over my meal right before it was served. Ever bite was like taking a shot. My mom's shrimp was covered with an entire bottle of seasoning - she was so nauseous after a few bites we had to leave and get her a soda to wash away the taste.

After just a few bites of our food, we asked for our check (gratuity was unfortunately already included) and ran away as fast as we could.

I'm warning you - do not eat at this restaurant!!!!!

any restaurant in the grove is better than this

by sunny28083 at Citysearch

Aside from the very mediocre and overpriced French faire (stale bread, lukewarm French Onion Soup with chewy croutons and a crepe with an entire bottle of less-than-fresh herbs de provence dumped in), the server disappeared for my entire meal. I coudn't find someone to refill my water; she refused to serve the bechamel sauce n the side. Apparently, it only comes dumped on the crepe or not at all. I asked to leave my tip in cash instead of on the credit card, and was told the cash register coudn't ring up a bill without the tip included. Finally, after an argument, the service charge was removed. I was planning on leaving cash tip until the server came with the altered credit receipt and threw it on my table with no pen to sign the bill. So, for the first time in my life, I left no tip at all.

Where to Sit:

Most of the tables are indoors, but if you want to make the most of watching the shopping bag-toting pedestrians sashay down the Grove, ask to sit out on the sidewalk.

There's a brunch vibe every morning, so as long as you don't mind a morning kick go with a Kir Royal, mimosa, or Bloody Mary.

Most of the tables seat two, romantically enough, but they can be easily pushed together for larger parties.
