Editorial Review for Porcao – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
The marble-floored dining room with panoramic views of Biscayne Bay fairly bustles with activity. Waiters bearing hunks of meat on skewers flit from table to table, slicing it to order; others push dessert and bar carts around the room, the latter dispensing alcoholic time-bombs called caipirinhas. Meats (several cuts of beef, lamb, chicken and sausages) are simply seasoned, flavorful and expertly grilled. Among the side dishes, the soupy, savory black beans are a good bet.

Insider Tips
What To DrinkThe red-heavy wine list (natch) is evenly divided among French, Italian, American and Spanish wines; priced from $20 to more than $100. If you're feeling brave, go for the potent, margarita-like caipirinhas.
Know Before You GoFirst, fill out a card with your choice of side dishes, then cruise the salad bar. When you're ready to eat meat, just turn the little disc on your table from red to green.
Save MoneyAn executive lunch is available on weekdays before 5pm, at a little more than half the price of the regular $44.90 rodizio price. You only get to pick one meat dish serving, but the massive salad bar is all yours.

My wife and I love the quality and taste of the food at Porcao, which is why she wanted to go their for Valentines day. We made reservations for 9:00PM, however, due to over booking we were sat at 10:30PM. When we finally were sat, we were not attended for over 20 minutes, we never met our waiter throughout the entire night. We were served cuts of meat for a long time until I finally felt the need to walk over to a manager request water and beverages. When I wanted the check I needed to waive over the manager again. Considering how poor our experience was I would have expected at least an apology or a round of drinks, instead I was insulted to see a 20% gratuity included in my $150 check total. This was supposed to be a special night for my wife and I and instead it was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant.

I went with my husband on Saturday night and we were expecting so much more for the money expended in this small, not cozy or beautiful restaurant. The service was bad, rude front desk, the waiters kept ignoring our table until we looked uncomfortable, and when we asked for somebody that new about wine there was nobody that new more than us. The salad bar is very limited, the meat is OK but not great, not a lot of variety of meat, short wine list, the deserts (specially the flan) bad and expensive. For the money expended in this restaurant is way better to go to Texas de Brazil. On top of the very high bill we had to pay for valet parking. I won't go back to this place.
