Editorial Review for Anne Kolb Nature Center – by Susan R. Miller
In Short
The 1,400-acre coastal mangrove is home to numerous plants and animals, some of them on the threatened- and endangered-species lists. The park includes picnic areas, biking, jogging and fitness trails, tennis and racquetball courts, and a children's play area that's wheelchair accessible. For a bird's-eye view, visitors can climb the five-level, 68-foot observation tower. Back on the ground, there's an exhibit hall featuring a 3,500-gallon aquarium. Whether you want to fish or just relax on the water, there are five boat trails to take visitors through West Lake via canoe or kayak. Guided tours aboard a 32-foot shaded boat also are available for those who want someone else to do the paddling.
