Hialeah >Hitching Post Barbecue
pretty good traditional bbq in hialeah!.
Ate with wife and son on Thursday night July 3 between 8 and 9 pm.
Real BBQ cooked with hickory wood (you can see the pallets of wood out back). Although the owners and the emphasis is Latin (which I love but can get anywhere in South Florida) I love the fact that the owners are trying hard to keep the traditonal fare alive. The "dinner for two" is a veritable feast which 3 o 4 four people can enjoy. Dinner rolls, cole slaw, corn on the cob, baked beans, french fries and onion rings come with ribs, sliced beef, sliced pork and chicken. The ribs are excellent and the chicken is good although the sliced meats were slightly on the dry side.
Pecan pie and key lime pie for deserts. Three choices of sauce. (I preferred the "hot"). All for $28. Great deal, good food!
Earthy, unpretentious decor with wagon wheel lamps and two beatiful and interesting murals with Western BBQ motifs.
Good BBQ for Miami- Dade (very much a BBQ deprived area) and certainly much better than anything else you can get in the Q category in Hialeah.
Nice and friendly service. Wish they offered an "all you can eat rib special" once a week.
Stop by next time your on Okeechobee Road. You'll be pleasantly surprised..
average at best. after reading the other reviews i decided to try this place out on a recent trip to miami. food was avg. my beef brisket was decent, wifes chicken was cold and you could tell it was reheated in a microwave but still cold in the middle. decent sides. inexpensive. sauce was good. service was fast and pretty friendly. nice selection of menu items. we did go kind of late, so i might try it again earlier in the day.
Great Food in an Unexpected Location!. I never thought this place would be any good . . . it doesn't seem like much from the outside. But after passing it for many years I decided to take the kids there and check it out. Fabulous. Really. You've got to take a drive to check this place out!
The real deal!! Old School!.
This place was great..Its been in Miami for 50 years. Not the most picturesque setting, but the food will make you forget that in a heartbeat! Also, its a grteat value, the dinner for 2 special is about 22 bucks and has tons of BBQ, fries, onion rings, drinks and dessert..try finding that somewhere else!
I love this place, and once you try it, you will too.
