What Bourbon Street is to New Orleans and Ocean Drive is to Miami, Duval Street is to Key West. Virtually everyone who comes to Key West eventually gets around to cruising the street, where people-watching (and dodging) are as popular a pastime as shopping, eating and drinking. Anchored at one end by Mallory Square and at the other by the southernmost point in the United States (OK, it's actually a block away on Whitehead Street), Duval Street's charms may be dubious, but they're as much a part of Key West as the gorgeous sunsets.

Know Before You GoWhatever you want to eat, drink or purchase is probably available somewhere on Duval Street, at almost any hour you want to do it. Though there are plenty of cheesy shops peddling T-shirts, trinkets and assorted junk, but there are also a number of fine restaurants and boutiques selling the works of local artists and craftspeople.

DO NOT MISS!!! the original sloppy joe's (which is captain tony's now), sunset from the top of la concha, drinks at mangoes with T.K., and dinner at 915. life just doesn't get any better....

Cons: can be noisy & boisterous... just have another margarita!

duval street is the bourbon street of keywest. if you have an open mind and appreciate the fact the everyone is different, you can't help but to have a great time. i would not recommend key west for a family outing as everything seems to be geared toward an adult environment. a great place to let loose and expose your inner self that you keep locked up at home and work. let er rip, and have a great time.
Pros: great night life, interesting history
Cons: drinks expensive, limited dancing
