Editorial Review for The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove – by Gayot.com

The Scene
A prime Coconut Grove location means the area's many eclectic shopping and dining districts are right at the doorstep of this Italian Renaissance-style hotel. For a special visit, customized packages incorporate local tours in a Mercedes-Benz, gourmet picnic baskets, "shopping invigoration" spa sessions and romantic breakfasts in bed.

The Details
Each of the 115 guest rooms and suites has a private balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking manicured gardens, Biscayne Bay or Miami skyline. Slippers, goose-down pillows, plush robes and European toiletries are just a few of the personal touches. There are also sepia photos of nearby Vizcaya Museum, from the days when it was a private estate. Star chef Willis Loughhead, formerly of South Beach institution Tantra, oversees the kitchen of the house restaurant, Biscaya Grill. The restaurant, which features upscale steakhouse and continental cuisine, also offers an inner sanctum for private dinners.
