The Scene – Within weeks of opening SoBe's contingent of celebs had already Samba-ed on in, perhaps drawn by a restaurant as flashy as they are. Its focal point is a dramatic, black-tile sushi bar under lights that resemble upended mushrooms and surrounded by an elevated dining area. – – The Food – Highly evolved simplicity keeps Samba's blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisines from becoming an unappetizing menage a trois. Nothing could be simpler (or more delicious) than sawagani, tiny Japanese river crabs, flash-fried and eaten whole. Equally…
Was decent.

I'd like to self proclaim myself to be a sushi connoisseur and I have to say that this was average. I've had way better sushi at way cheaper prices. The server was good and the ambience was cool (as probably all the Sushi Sambas are)....
Great rolls and sake
by Manal1900 at Citysearch
Great sushi...they do not go cheap on the fish in the rolls like some places do. Also, the sake was great...waiter was informative...although i felt like he tried to rush us in the end by pouring all of our sake into our glasses...which we did not want to do b/c we wanted to keep it warm until we were ready to finish it. Other than that, everything was great!
- Pros: Generous portion of fish in rolls
- Cons: Waiter tried to turn the table too quickly
Inventive dishes, great sushi, great service

We were pleasantly impressed with Sushi Samba Dromo. We visited on a night when they were celebrating Brazil Independence Day, so the evening included samba dancers and musicians. Our waitress was extremely nice, energetic, and attentive. The sushi was great, the entrees were delicious and the dessert was sublime. Well worth the price!
- Pros: Decor, seating, ambience
- Cons: Pricey
The Details on SUSHISAMBA dromo
Oenophilia:
Samba's small wine list spans a wide range of styles and prices. The full body and soft, lemony acidity of the 1999 Bouchard Montagny ($38) makes it an especially fine complement to the sophisticated cuisine.
What To Drink:
In addition to dozens of wines and more than 25 sakes, fruity mixed drinks complement the sophisticated cuisine. One of the best is the strawberry sensation called the Nina Fresa, made of vodka, strawberry puree, and guava and lime juices.
