Save TimeTwelve major agencies have counters within the airport, but only Avis, Budget, Dollar and National have on-site pickup facilities. For all others, courtesy shuttles are provided.

Whenever the flights were over booked or too expensive to go to Miami, I would book a flight to Ft. Lauderdale and ride down with a friend. The Miami airport is so bad, that this might be worth it at any time. It's a smaller airport with less traffic.
