The Scene – Beyond the bustling lobby of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is a sanctuary of serenity that invites guests to escape the everyday world. Inside, gentle fountains and fresh orchids accent an elegant marble entry, where the gracious staff speaks in hushed tones as it prepares to pamper. Rooms feature views of the bay; shades can be drawn for seclusion. – – The Services – The spa specializes in traditional therapies from China, Bali, India and Europe. Standard spa services are available, but the real reason to visit is for unique rituals like an ayurvedic massage…

Great Massage...even when the power went out!

by dylan4005 at Citysearch

I was there for the blackout of '08! But, it didn't prevent the Mandarin Spa from offering polite service and a great massage! The hotel itself offers beautiful views of downtown. The Spa staff is first rate. I could knock off a star for the high prices...but somethings are worth it!

Great experience every time!

by dsquarterhorses at Citysearch

I've been to the Mandarin Oriental Spa 4 or 5 times and highly recomend it. Every time I go, I feel like I'm the only one there. Having been at other day spas and felt like we were all cattle being herded to our different places (The Doral) The Mandarin is so refreshing. Even in the shower/ relaxation area you hardly ever see another person. It may cost a little more but it's worth it! Also, lunch outside by the pool is the perfect finish! Go ahead and treat yourself, you deserve it !!!

  • Pros: Not crowded, awesome massage therapists. Very Quiet and relaxing
  • Cons: A little more expensive but worth every penny!

So Overpriced

by jadegreen2 at Citysearch

THe massage was good, the facial not. Both were wildly overpriced. The lounge was nice, with fresh water, towels and attendent who was very nice but very busy. There are better places locally that charge a lot less and do better work. Maybe it's o.k. if you have loads of money to spend, but it's not worth it.

  • Pros: nice setting, foot ritual
  • Cons: too expensive
