In Short – It doesn't matter what night of the week you hit the Purdy--the vibe is always groovy, the drinks are always good (and cheap) and the pool table is always lined with stacks of quarters. Comfy couches and big plastic chairs shaped like giant hands are flanked by candlelit end tables; lava lamps cast a purple haze throughout the smoke-filled front and back rooms. Live bands, DJs and just plain old CDs provide the tunes, depending on the night.

NEVER going back

Last night my friends and I went to Purdy Lounge. My wealthy best friend bought drinks all night. At the end of the night, the total was over $250, and upon paying the tab, his credit card declined (he just bought a huge TV that day). After his card declined, he needed to walk to the nearest ATM, so we stayed at the bar and waited for him to come back. After a short while, I stepped outside to call him, while my girlfriend was still inside seated at the bar. The bartender followed me outside and tried to pull me back inside, to pay the tab. I asked him not to put his hands on me, so he went inside and brought out five more guys to "bring" me back inside. I didn't want to be embarrassed, and unfortunately agreed to pay the bill as long as they didn't touch me. Thank goodness my friend came back (after I paid), and reimbursed me with cash. I still tipped the bartender $10 on a begrudging, high bill that I did not incur, and he actually complained to my friend about the low amount of my monetary gratuity. My friend then politely threw a couple $20s at him. I cannot believe how rude and aggressive people can be and will not ever go back there after that treatment.

great place to wine and dine your girl to a magnificent evening. the prices for the drinks are not that bad as well.

Purdy is the Bomb

This place has strong drinks, great shots and a great place to hang and have fun. What it isn't is South Beach BS or attitude, pick and choose by an obnoxious doorman. You will get in, the sound system is great, their is a DJ most nights and you will have fun.
I work here and the Purdy has been open since 2000 and yeh it is cold early, you have to be cause when it gets packed we want it comfortable. but there is no F'n way somebody got a drink with No VODKA. No Way that dude most be a competitor.

As if there weren't enough head games in the singles' circuit, The Purdy keeps board games like Connect Four on hand. Squeeze in a game of Spin the Bottle too, for nostalgia's sake.
When To Go:
Live bands play Mondays and Tuesdays, DJs on most other nights. Thursday is Ladies Night, with free cosmos and other goodies. And there's never a cover.
