I am shocked by the other reviews..
we got our west at 2 months and he is now 10 months, and dog bar is the only place I shop and get my dog groomed at. The staff is great and Max the groomer is AMAZING.
Sorry you had such horrible experiences but would you should try them again.
irresponsible, overpriced and a bad attitude.
i have been taking my dog to dog bar for grooming since i moved to south beach 7 months ago. i also bought most of his food and toys there. i've been a very good and loyal customer despite the fact that they are overpriced.
today, we showed up promptly at 10:00 a.m. for his grooming appointment (last month i was scolded by the groomer for showing up 7 minutes late), and the groomer was not there and no one knew when he'd arrive. after 15 stressful minutes waiting (my dog is an elderly, handicapped rescue), we left. 15 minutes later (now 30 minutes late for his appointment), the manager called and asked us to return as max, the groomer had finally arrived. we returned, reluctantly, and i told max that since he was late he'd caused my dog a lot of stress.
his response was.....'so? if i have things to do or am running late, that's the way it is.' i turned to leave and he snottily said 'good luck.' the manager said absolutely nothing throughout this exchange and as i left the store other than making excuses for hitting traffic. you don't have phones???
arriving late for an appointment is unprofessional, but being so dismissive of the well being of an animal is unconscionable.
Incompetent Grooming - Avoid at all costs. This review pertains strictly to the Dog Bar's grooming facility. I have no issues with their retail section. For $280, they washed our dog (no cutting or styling) and delivered him completely wet. An entire afternoon was spent at home towel-drying the dog as were he left wet (he has long cords), his coat would have rotted and required a complete shave-down. The manager made the excuse that the groomer is operating without an assistant. The store's owner, Steven Cohen, defended the delivery of a wet dog as up to his standards. As a grooming facility, avoid at all costs. They should be ashamed of such sub-par standards being upheld by the business owner.
Lenny Kravitz and his pooch are regulars at this bar, where most customers come in on all fours..
In Short
Fido rules at this pooch parlor, where pet lovers can spoil their four-legged friends with designer bowls, pillows and the latest in canine couture. Custom collars and leashes allow you to keep your loyal companion fashionably in check, but the puppy T-shirt with "stud" spelled out in rhinestones may go to his head. The accessories aren't only for the object of your affection, though--Kate Spade has nothing on some of the designer carrier bags in stock. The Dog Bar understands that it's not who you are, it's what you eat. That's why they stock the finest treats and foods on the market, including their most popular seller, Flint River Ranch. Keep Spot from teething on the furniture--get him an organic, free-range bone from Nature's Reward. The staff is one of the Dog Bar's greatest resources, so tap them for info on everything from grooming and nutrition to obedience classes.
my visit. it's OK, but nothing great. It took long time to them to ask me if they can help.
