B.e.d.Interesting Concept. I didn't have dinner there. I had a few drinks with friends at the bar. I was there on a weekngiht and it wasn't crowded. The crowd tries really hard to be trendy sitting/lying on the bed...but that's South Beach. The drinks were expensive. Nonetheless I enjoyed the drinks and the ambience.
B.E.D. was DEAD!. I went to B.E.D. this past Saturday night and I was very disappointed! I just came from a fabulous dinner at Tantra and was let down by the attitude and stupidity of the waitstaff. My friends and I were let right in, but when we got in, we asked to be seated at a B.E.D. and we were told we needed reservations. Looking around, I saw that there were 6 B.E.D.s that were open. After we told them that we were going to be buying bottles the whole time (which usually average $200 per bottle), we were informed that we still couldn't take a B.E.D.! Does anyone understand this concept? I live in Manhattan and I never had that time of treatment. I don't understand why they were giving people such horrible service and treatment when the lounge was empty. I'm glad that I didn't spend any money there.
Surprising!.
I thought it would be overpriced, tasteless yuppie chow (a la Suva) and a lot of trashy people dancing to bad music. I was surprised. The food was excellent. The music they played during the pre-dance hours was interesting and tasteful. The Martinis were sublime. And once the dancing started, the music was good and the floor was pleasantly crowded but not packed.
Not a lot of pimply kids here.
